Uhm, this is really creepy, now. But I have to ask. If you wanted to.........."Delete" a pregnancy, is there a service for that?

I dont know if you were asking me that question or just a general question Brenda, but i am happy to answer for myself.

I wouldnt 'delete' a pregnancy, or introduce any 'trauma' into the process. The women/avatars who want to have a baby in second life may be doing it for one of many reasons, shallow or deep. Some may not be able to have a baby in RL or perhaps they just want to revisit a time they enjoyed in RL for instance. I personally have always taken the stance that I wont mess with a psychological aspect of pregnancy and childbirth. I am not qualified to do that. IF i do this service for a woman in SL it will be a straightforward and successful outcome resulting in a live healthy baby and mother at the end of it.

It was a general question, but thanks for a thoughtful answer, one that I can agree with. I wouldn't cast any aspersions on anyone doing this either.

The only issue I have ever had with this being RPd in world is the talking belly. Seriously, I have had 4 RL pregnancies, complications, cravings, c-sections and babies....I wouldnt really want to do it in SL. However, I understand the reason many do...but!! The 'so and so is craving such n such' or 'so n so's baby is doing such n such'...my belly never did any talkin out loud to the world. A good scripter should have made that lil tummy talk to Mommy only or a list that maybe mommy could fill out so Daddy could hear it too.

Not a big deal, most would say, until you are sitting through some other RP event that was important to people (like a wedding) and in the middle of a very touching vow a mother in the back row has a sleeping baby in her tummy and craving pickles or some such thing. :p

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Imagine how freaky it would have been if your belly talked in real life during pregnacy.

Yes...and the one that says 'I collared your Mom' always makes me think of Brenda. :)

Hmm reminds me of some schoolyard graffiti, some idiot wrote "I r*&ted your mum last night"
And someone simply retorted underneath "Thanks Dad"

I use to be a bit freaked out about SL pregnancies.. But having recently made friends with someone who is sl pregnant, my whole blinkered view has changed. Its like a natural progression for them.. they have been partnered up for 2 years and want to progress as they would in real life.

They want to be able to share something and be how they would be if it was real life. Its hard to explain, but their reasons were so sweet :)

But yes the talking belly is weird...I never know what to say when the word from the womb is hitting the screen ;)

I was gobsmacked when an SL friend tp-ed me to the shop where she entered into an SL pregnancy. After the first wave of shock receded I could see why some would want this as stated earlier.
There was a pregnancy thread a short while back where one of the contributors spoke of meeting a 'mother-to-be' who was going to go out dancing (SL still) so they removed the bulge for the occasion. I found this rather poignant and sad really.

SL birth control? Easy. Create 1 prim, shrink it as small as possible, attach it to the inner knee, then script so that the knees remain together at all times. Bingo! ;)

Hmm, conceived in a shop ? Doesn't sound as fun as in the back of a Panelvan :)

Then again ther'es another hud about that makes you work for your baby too, no nookie with other xcite user, no random chance of bun in the oven, hmm though perhaps that's seen as gambling now :)

I think they were referring to the person that you were posing youe questions to, not you. :-)
