Hello all, Usually just a lurker here reading away but today I am still quite angry about being ripped off in SL by a so called "reputable" business. I spent $4500 on a package and have only received half of it, this was 7 weeks ago and I was supposed to receive the rest of the package yesterday (26/9) I have been IMing and sending notecards to the owner of this business over the 7 weeks (I did not get one inkling of communication from him) and must say it was about 3 weeks ago that i really became concerned about the non responsiveness (I like to give benefit of the doubt) and thought maybe he is away, busy or something. Soooooo I guess I just wanted to vent a little, i am sure there is nothing I can do about this and would love to name the business and owner but think its probably not right to do that here..but may I add, IF *you are thinking of a SL pregnancy* PLEASE contact me so I may advise you who you should NOT go to.
Cheers Nikki Heron

Pregnant avatars and/or attachments? Sounds interesting. I never knew this kind of thing was taking place--I guess I should have known.
I'm sorry you were ripped off. Slander is against the TOS, but as long as you are clever, and review a projects from an unbias standpoint, there are ways around it.

When I get a chance to get back in-world, I'll IM. I scripted some stuff for an OB/GYN who left SL many months ago, so I think I may be able to do a little pro bono work in this case. For help with RL pregnancies... not so much.

Lol! Last time I checked, there was an SL hospital where AVs could go to have their kids and everything. I've also often "heard" a prospective mommy's tummy announcing various things about the progress of her pregnancy in green text.
*giggle* I love SL.
However, (more seriously), I imagine that, for people who are thinking about getting pregnant, or who are themselves unable to, this can be a useful roleplay.

The big name in the business has been going strong for about 2 years. And yeah has a bit of a reputation for mediocre quality control/ poor customer service. The big complaints when it was newer were prim babies that heads would pop off.

From: Michael Bigwig Pregnant avatars and/or attachments? Sounds interesting. I never knew this kind of thing was taking place--I guess I should have known. been happening for ages. There's actually a lot of places out there dat provide dis -- but like dis thread makes clear, it's a "buyer beware" kinda thing. Many are reputable, but not alla them. Mari (Who, of course, prefers us 'real' kids over the prim type)

A friend of mine recently went to a well known pregnancy service, on the recommendation of another friend who was 'SL pregnant'. however, the girl who had her baby first was so unhappy with the service's final parts (delivery) that the second girl asked me to act as midwife because she knew i was a fairly experienced roleplayer in this field. (long story, ask me in IM sometime).
I understand that the prim bellies and scripts and so on are pretty good, but the roleplay deliveries are very iffy. These services are usually franchised out and it seems its pretty hit and miss on the skills of the midwife you might get.

Uhm, this is really creepy, now. But I have to ask. If you wanted to.........."Delete" a pregnancy, is there a service for that?
