Wha? You think signatures on the bottom are annoying? That's ridiculous...usually the people that say this are those people that don't have the savvy to create one for themselves--they wish they could have something flashy and cool...and hate that they aren't able to implement it.

Michael, you have proven to me once and for all that you say things for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of people. You know your smarter than that.

From: 3Ring Binder
i hate these sorts of campaigns to control the people.

What campaign? I only see opinions stated here. I don't see anyone campaigning to have them all removed.

Thanx Bradley... you are right -I certainly did not intend to start a "campaign" LOL Was just asking residents their opinions.

Michael Bigwig: You may be right... I AM jealous of all you techie pros out there. I know nothing about nothing when it comes to computers.

I have officially been convinced, signatures are cool! Now, to come up with something interesting. Hmm... this may take a while. I do promise that it will be SHORT and SWEET, and I'll try to make the border perfectly clear (with my limited knowledge, that is) he he

No no no. I don't say things to get a rise out of people damnit...you know you're smarter than that. I'm just saying something that I'm sure is on a few of our minds...if you guys are afraid to say it, fine, but don't accuse me of trolling when I'm not. Sheesh. Get over it...I tell it like it is, at least you know where you stand with me.

From the majority of my post comments, the literature is perfectly diplomatic, but from time-to-time I'm blunt and honest...and this may offend a few of you. That's not my fault. I don't point fingers, I just call it like I see it.

If you guys want to pussy-foot around a topic because it may offend someone, fine, but it's nice to have a few people on a forum that say the things others won't. And I don't do it in a childish, provoking way...but I also, mind you, don't sugar coat it.

I'm not being a jerk, I promise. I'm not a trouble-maker...I'm not a villian....stop treating me like one because it's 'safe' for [you].

And actually--to be difficult because I love you--my input into the discussion actually turned a sterile uninteresting topic into a thought provoking drama mini-series. So, you can thank me for that. lol.
Haha Michael, you may not be trying ... hard ... to get a rise out of people. But you will never convince me that you don't enjoy a little dray-ma now and again!

There's a difference between adding flare to a conversation (in a humorous way), and simply starting trouble. We all like a little drama--we are all guilty of putting our foots in our mouth, or being less diplomatic than we ask others to be.

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Hmm... Michael B a closet drama queen? Good to know since I am new to these forums.
(Plz take no offense - I'm just stating facts/telling it the way it is/the way I see it )
Actually, a little drama never killed anyone, and I must admit, quite funny at times.

This is also a problem--you are not grasping who I am from your own knowledge and witness...you are taking a (few) posters opinions.

I'm no more dramatic than the rest of us. I don't think I deserved a flame from you--you patronize me with your mocking words...I don't think that was necessary. That's how it works here though...you don't even have an opinion of me yet, but because one or two others had a problem with what I said...you're already passive-aggressive with me.

See what you guys started?

:) I'm perfectly OK with all of this. I find it hard to believe that not ONE of you can agree with what I said earlier in this thread...actually, one of the replies admitted that what I said was true...but because I didn't sugar-coat it, the few of you that lie-in-wait, always come out of the woodwork to bash me. Ah well...such is forum life.

Let's quash this flame now, before it gets too big.

The simple fact of the matter is, some people don't like signatures, simply because they aren't savvy enough to make one for themselves.

I don't find a single problem with me making this statement. And lord knows, it certainly is an applicable example.

If you're not willing to hear an honest answer, opinion, or example...don't ask.

Such a petty reason. I'm sure it's true (strictly speaking), but surely a very small minority?

Perhaps offense is taken by the implied (and admittedly false syllogism) that the reverse is also true?

I'd like do awful things to you, but I'm pretty sure you'd snap me in two like a twig and leave me cross-eyed, dizzy and confused. I'm giving you a 9.8, tied for the top rating ever given. Almost off-the charts slutty. Shame on you and congratulations. -- Trout

You are right Michael. I asked for people's opinions and I got them. If you had read anything I had posted, you would see that I have been agreeing with you all along. I was not flaming or being sarcastic. Maybe it is a language thing since English is not my 1st... If I have offended you (or patronized you) I am sorry.

I now have my very 1st signature!!! Yay
Sorry if it's not very flashy - I'm still learning...

I know you agreed with me...I even made specific example of it (didn't you read that? :) )

I wasn't undermining anything you said Isabeau.

I wouldn't use the word 'petty' when describing my example...it doesn't quite fit. It's a valid and real example...and it certainly sparks a little debate and flame...petty things usually don't get that much attention.

I think my example is a very real reason. It may not be easy to swallow for some of you, but that does not mean it's 'petty.' Many designers are hateful of other designers because they are not able to do what they do (this goes for ANY industry or skill)...it's life. Envy isn't a quality one should brag about, but nevertheless is a valid example and reason.

Please understand everyone...I do not say the things I say to get a rise out of you, or cause trouble. I simply state what's on my mind in a (hopefully) interesting manner...I have no intention of starting a fire.

It is rather arrogant though, Michael. Can you not possibly conceive that some people just don't like them? Is it really so hard for you to imagine that people have a different opinion than you do and just accept that?

Isn't it arrogant of you to assume I don't know that other people have different opinions? I think we all learn that in 1st grade.

Nowhere in my posts, do I assume other people don't have opinions. I think you'd have to be crazy not to know that.

My posts in no way assume other people don't have opinions--in fact, the very essence of my posts enforce the opposite, do they not?

Well, what do you know . . . ? I didn't realize until reading this thread that I
had my option to view sigs turned off. Now I am enjoying reading everyone
else's and will create one of my own!

Very cool. Did you create from scratch, or from an EQ template? Actually, I think you used MY template...lol.

Thanks. Pallies are cool.

It's from scratch. Well the logo and the pics are from somewhere. I actually used your sig in the background but then it got a bit overdone.

I wasn't going to post, but what the hay....

Happy to explain the design elements if anyone's interested. Or even if not :)

Who else thinks "signatures" at the bottom of posts are a little annoying? Are they really necessary? Why do YOU add a signature? I often keep on reading until I realize (duh) that the post is finished - that I'm now reading the signature ... Please take this in a poking kind of way - who knows, if this thread picks up, I might even add my own!!

I added the signature so I don't have to type all that in every time I post. :p
