Never mind "disable object creation", it's a pity his parents didn't disable "spawn idiot son creation". You did nothing wrong. Ban the creature from your land and mute him for good measure. Quoted for Hilarity. I wish more people would use that option! Kya - you did nothing wrong. The guy is a complete jackass. Ban him, eject him, mute him, and don't worry about him again. 100L lol. You can't rent a room in a seedy motel for a half hour for 100L! (not that I would know...errr...just sayin' is all...) |

You kind of wonder how this poor inept soul manages in rl. Maybe he's 8 years old.

You kind of wonder how this poor inept soul manages in rl. Maybe he's 8 years old. You know - the more I hear about people like this, the more I start to recognize the signs of them in RL. Of course, they don't pull this stuff in RL, because someone would knock their teeth out, but they have sort of an arrogant, self-entitled attitude and they tend to treat others as if we were all put here to serve their needs. They usually are pretty unsuccessful in life, but they blame everyone else for their failures and are psychologically unable to accept their fault in the matter. He probably thought his behavior was either a) entirely warranted since she wouldn't let him have her land, or b) absolutely hilarious. These people have severely limited senses of humor and don't understand funny at all. I sort of wish I could round up the people who act like this in SL and do a study on them in RL. I bet some common themes would emerge. Severe narcissism, inability to relate to others in a social setting, maybe mild paranoia. No friends, other than similarly afflicted people, and failure to thrive in society. Just guessing, but I'd lay money on it. |

Hee! How come I never get such opportunities as these? Love the conversation.
Note to self: Create a prim turd - turn on land permissions - hide and wait. _____________________

Sometimes folks like those are a few brain cells short of a pair.
Like those who plop a house right down on an active runway and get all uppity when its returned by land owners, staff, or autoreturn... Or someone parks a jumbo jet in their living room... _____________________

It was funny when that one woman, cant remember the name, just walked into your living room and sat down and started talking like she knew us though. I had the opposite happen, where I TP'd into a plot that was for sale and was in the middle of a living room full of people, who all got a bit hostile: ZOMG what are you doing in our house, just coming in like that? Yer so rude! They mellowed out a bit when I explained to them that maybe they should expect visitors, seeing as how it was for sale on the public list. I also had a group come to one of my islands and demand that I should rent it to them for a month without any money upfront. Yes the whole island. 15000 prims. They'd pay later. And then they got really bent out of shape because I banned/ejected them. One of them sent me an IM later saying that she thought I was extremely rude for banning them but she'd still give me a chance to reconsider the offer. |

Hi I'm working on my PhD thesis and my subject is "Jerks in Virtual Environments" If you are a jerk, or think you might be one, would you help me out by following the link below and answering a few questions? It will only take about 15 minutes and I'll be really grateful. I followed that link. It's just a thinly-veiled ruse to get people to your store, and don't you deny it ![]() I'm not a jerk, nor do I think I might be one, by the way. Naturally, others may disagree. _____________________

The important thing is did you buy anything at my store? If he was there less than two minutes, apparently it's standard practice to ban him and send a snotty IM. |

The important thing is did you buy anything at my store? No, better than that. I built a rather fetching cottage in the middle of it. I'll send you 100L on payday. _____________________

OMG you could have made 100L!!!
um yeah ok... you should add him to your ban list, and then mute him, then you will not have to deal with him anymore (hopefully) _____________________

It was funny when that one woman, cant remember the name, just walked into your living room and sat down and started talking like she knew us though. I love stuff like that. I welcome anyone and everyone (ass long as they're not being an ass) into my homes at any time. Those impromptu visits are the best kind. I've never understood the need people have for absolute privacy all the time in SL. I realize to each their own, but I would be so bored with my virtual life without interaction from others... |

I'm with you, Jake. One night I had rezzed a photo backdrop on my beach and was taking some pictures (of myself, naturally). I finished and deleted my big whte box and was a little surprised to see a big submarine/spaceship/boat/house thingie floating in the swimming area. I went over to see what was up and had a very amusing conversation with a nice, fairly newbie-ish, furry fellow. I had to gently explain to him that I couldn't rent space to him to keep his (really hideous) vehicle on, at the kinds of rates he was able to pay. He was disappointed, but we parted on good terms. _____________________

She'll love him because nobody understands him and he's special, 'cause everybody picks on him. He just needs someone to take care of him. The female version of the miscreant has her own "boyfriend", who basically just likes being walked on and can't do better for himself. A really successful one can have a coterie of followers who all match the "girlfriend" model. Think Charles Manson without the ambition. |

Well. In this case, a lack of ambition is a good thing, I suppose. Charles Manson with the ambition is...Charles Manson. At least his followers haven't got the gumption to run around killing people.
