Hmm, that would be what WoW becomes when you get to level 50 and spend all your time standing around auction houses, foraging for herbs and minerals, and making magical items to swap with each other

ya I love the game, man there are some cool changes ... I love the VCTF.. Im pretty damn good with a bender and of course the tank.. what server do you play on? Any I can find. The game has helped me to realize that, in my older years, I really suck at FPS Games.  If you spot "MrRetardo", that would be me! _____________________

There is several grids opened last 2 months in opensim project. Now all this grids working with sl client but is separate from sl grid.All project is in early alpha phase of development. And there is new client called realxtend with many new posibilities ( prim size have 100 m limit , import mash 3d object in world,avatar customize separate from land ..etc.etc..)but is in alpha phase too.

If you have an old computer, try SL on an up-to-date one - the difference is amazing.
If you want SL clones, based on LL open source, a sort of 'SL beyond LL', then try Open Life or Central Grid - but they are in early stages and experience similar problems to SL If you want to make your own private fantasy land, you can download an Open Life Standalone sim (or sims) to your own comp. It's a lonely place as no friends can visit it but for building etc. it's fun and it's free. You can even recreate a replica of your SL avatar, but that involves copyng down all the slider values from appearance mode and re-entering them. I did that, it works. But you can't have any attachments yet I enjoy going to my 2 sim standalone island, Wootonia, but at heart I'm a Second Life loyalist and a keen supporter of Linden Lab and I expect to stay that way. _____________________

Well I cant get into Open Life at the moment, it has been stuck on"connecting to Region" for 10 min, but I agree with Conifer, I love to play in "Very's World" on my own LAN useing opensim. Lonly but great for testing builds, clothing textures etc.
I will give Open Life another min or so then hop off to "Very's World" instead I have some textures to test anyway. |

Try the open sims openlifegrid.com and centralgrid.com are just a few out there SL isnt the only one any more and lots are going to the open sims I hate people copying my stuff so much in SL why would I use these systems that copy SL? They are based on the idea that IP theft is OK and it is better to copy than do something original. And there is not a chance in hell that I would ever trust them with my information or money. _____________________

I downloaded the open sim the other day. hehe it looks cool,me and my newbie av on a deserted island. I want my SL inventory though,I don't suppose I can do that though,can I? I just looked at There.com. Their trailer looks kind of fun. Does it really work? It looks a lot more limited than SL(TM©®, etc.),with no dragon and alien avatars wandering around, but I'm reminded of the old Devo song. "Freedom of choice is what you want. Freedom from choice is what you need."
