From: Blog May 5th we'll be continuing to work on the main viewer, which we anticipate will be ready by the end of June. When Viewer 1.23 is final and ready to become the main Viewer (again, estimated to be by the end of June), the full implementation process will begin - all regions will need to be maturity-rated, search will be filtered for everyone, Adult content on the mainland will need to move to the new continent, and access to Adult regions and search results will be limited to Residents with verified accounts. The blog says at the end of June mainland mature content will need to 'move' to the new continent. Absolutely no discussion on how that will happen - and its coming up very soon. Anyone at these 'brown-bag' meetings get an idea of how these moves are suppose to take place? .

Where did that quote come from? It's not from an opening blog post.
The words "adult content" is probably just a short version of saying "the adult content that will have to move", and not that all adult content, such as the sex bed in someone's home, will have to move.

No one except the Lindens know how this will go ahead, so its going to be via a support ticket and these details will be released later. Thats it in a nutshell Here is a link to the latest BB meeting/Press conference held last week http://slpodcast.net/2009/05/coronaverse-6-linden-lab-press-conference-on-adult-content-changes/

When I follow that link I get the blog post that was made on April 21st. The language you quoted is in there, but I haven't read it closely enough to see if there was some change? I don't see anything that marks it as updated today. **edit to add: the links to the brown bags are in the post I was routed to in your quote. They are mp3 files, but you can download and listen to them by following those links.

From: Novis Dyrssen And this is news...? Are we suppose to click our heels together three times and be re-located? Who is the go-to Linden for these moves, will the land be set aside for existing adult content owners on the mainland and what procedure will be used to assure these Premium Customers are not inconvenienced anymore than they have to be? .

Do a search in the forum for "adult continent". We've discussed it all at length here. Perhaps you've been away. And, yes. If we have content that has to be relocated, we have to click our heels together and accept it - or remove the content. But read up on it. There is a lot for you to read that you've missed.

I see discussion about definitions - but I have not seen any about the procedure and who is eligible to move. Any info?

Honestly, I read the thread title and thought, d'uh! That was clear from the moment they said they'd make Ursula, right?

Basically, the places that will be required to move are those that are sex/violence/etc. oriented. It does leave quite a few questions but they haven't been answered yet, as they are still deciding about it. One piece of unstated information is that the website search already filters according to the new adult thing. If a parcel has certain words (such as "sex" in either it's name or its description, it doesn't get shown in the results and, from what they've said already, it does seem likely that if a place promotes those things, such as "sex" in it's parcel name/description or Classified ads, it will have to move or stop promoting it. The overall idea is that people won't be able to find adult activities in non-adult areas, unless they are nosey and cam inside people's homes.

. I listened to some of the Brown Bag for Land Owners (I think it was that one) and it has some info about what they are planning. I think that when they are ready they will announce that anyone who wants to move can submit a ticket, and they will evaluate those to see if you are eligible (that part is still fuzzy, but they did say just wanting to move won't be enough to qualify for a land swap). Once you are approved for the move, you will be able to go and look at the parcels in Ursula, and submit a list of which ones you would like in order of preference. Once they find a parcel you agree to, a Linden will assign it and you can come claim it. That is my understanding of what I heard.

Well this is quite odd. They definitely know they are moving Mature content. The definitely know it all has to move to Ursula to stay on the main grid and they definitely know it will begin to happen at the end of June. What they do not know - and not have even begun to discuss - is how this will happen. Corporate planned chaos to discourage the adult business' from staying on the mainland or standard Linden incompentence when it comes to Premium Account holders? .

The plan is to hold SL6B on Ursula, and when it's over, the birthday partiers will choose Adult Content providers to inherit their parcels. That's because the SL6B planning is further along. Isn't it?

. Lias, This is just my opinion, but I have been following this issue closely. Yes, I think it is "planned chaos". Everything the Lindens are doing points to their true intention: to force adult content out of Second Life entirely. They are deliberately creating doubt, uncertainty, and fear. They intend to make it hard for your potential customers to find you, and make it expensive for you to remain in business. They are masking this intention behind a spin campaign the likes of which we haven't seen since the last election. It's not just "adult content" either. Anyone who is "different" is at risk. Gays, lesbians, transgenders, D/s, furries, Goreans, vampires, goths. If you came to SL to pursue anything other than the squeaky clean, nonviolent, politically correct, life of June and Ward Cleaver, you're going to find it a lot harder in the future. Linden Lab has adopted a morality that harks back to 1950s television shows.

Putting "yiff" on the Adult list isn't "targetting furries". There is no ambiguity there, that is an explicitly sexual term.

I have empathy for someone in business who is going to have to move or doesn't even know for sure they have to move.....especially if you've put several years and efforts into developing your location.
Not exactly something you can do overnight. Finding the right location...physically placing your store again....placing all the products.....changing up all your ads that are plastered throughout SL, Xstreet, and blogs.....major time factors there. Major down time. Lost revenues.
Also means you're in limbo while waiting....no sense in expanding now....no sense in busting out another 30 Xstreet ads....no sense in writing up another 30 blog pages....no sense in tossing out your LM heavily. You're already in limbo before you get to the Real Limbo.
A business owner would be negligent to not think about this ahead of time....and start making a plan. (hardly possible now).....Worth asking over and over again....until they give you some answers. I think that some times they forget that this isn't always casual "play time" for some people.

I think that some times they forget that this isn't always casual "play time" for some people. You missed two things out... 1. The total loss of your All search rankings that have been built up due largely to Picks. Existing Picks will no longer count. I've done it twice with the store but both of those occasions were back when the All search was relatively new and it didn't take long to get the rankings up again, but people are much more aware of how to get top rankings these days, and it would take more time to do it. Lost earnings. 2. Halving your potential customer base because your stuff won't be available to anyone who isn't verified, and that'll probably be at least half the population. More lost earnings.

. They've talked of people putting in support tickets and awaiting to be approved. They've talked of people choosing a location they'd like, but also said it will be on a first come first served basis. They've hinted that people will have around 9 days to complete their move, but hinted they may be flexible on this. Then they've said it will all be a bit more troublesome than they first thought regarding moving and will probably announce next week that they will give people longer to move.
