Its my First Rez Day on April 12th - I am interested in hearing what other people did or plan to do for theirs. So my question is what did you do for your Rez Day?

my rez day was ignored and forgotten by all except my SL partner. I've been invited to all my friends' rezday parties...but mine...forgotten and not that important to anyone but me.

Thanks for the replies so far - wow - I thought that people would make more of a big deal about them, seems a milestone kind of thing.

Approach it lightheartedly. Set out to make it fun for yourself. Go to all your favorite places. Its all about you. If your friends want to come along, great!
My partner was on for only a little while that day. Its okay.
The party was a nice surprise.

Caveat emptor? No, that's not it, but so applicable to SL isn't it? Carpe diem, yes, that's the expression for this thread, especially with those responses... ;)

/me had to bring it up with my former "partner" who wasn't feeling very SL-y at the time, fortunately she did send out invites and themed a regular event for my rezday. I had to decorate myself though... We all had an absolutely wonderful time with oodles of friends and gifts and silliness. I even went so far as to make SL related trivia about me for the trivia ball, LOL

Was a wonderful time, brought friends closer together, everyone socialized and had fun and danced and whatnot. :)

Like so many other things in SL being all about how we approach it? Your fantasy rezday should be with those you care about and how you'd like it too? :D

Another fun thing I've seen partners do for their SO's rezdays is hire live musicians they enjoy for their own show...

And happy pre-rezday Gabriele!

My Rez day will probably be like my RL birthday, I'm working. I'd have to look up my rez date anyway, lolol.

Okay, I've got 8 1/2 months to go till my Rez day. I'll bet I'm working, sigh.

I hope you have a great day, lots of fun and may the glitches fail to find you.

I don't even think I was inworld that day, I can't even name it off hand other than it's sometime in January. It's of no significance to me.

I hadn't even thought about mine untill I read this thread... Mine will be on the 5th of May (nudge..nudge.. ;) ;) ) so it's coming up pretty soon.

I'll have been in SL a year...

I spend most of my time working on stuff but I may take that day off and just go have some fun dancing etc....

I agree, it is a 'milestone' of sorts..... from the 'box on the head' moments to where one is now.. :D

Same stuff... different day...

in the past 3 months I have probably been to 10 or 12 rez day parties, including my own, I guess it depends on your social circle and who your long term 'friends' are.

My Partner and I love to celebrate occasions. We celebrated our "Ringversarys" (the date he asked us to be exclusive and presented matching Claddagh rings), our "proposalversary" and of course the anniversary of our Medieval Partnering ceremony. (6 months on March 21.)

As for Rez days - on my 6-month "Rezversary" my partner gave a wonderful piece of furniture to me that I had admired for our home. On his Rezversary two weeks later, I gave an AKK horse to him.

So, we LOVE to celebrate occasions special to us.

My one-year rezday will be May 1 with my Partner's about 2 weeks later. Guess I'd better start thinking. ;)

Oh...and as this post reflects, my personal choice is to spend special occasions with my partner or my partner and a few close friends. I'm not the social butterfly "big party" type.

I feel old, lonely, and sad for awhile, then when that gets old, I kick myself for not buying into the 4096 no tier for life deal during the short period when I had the chance.

Boy, do I know how to party.

I shared my rez-day party with my partner who was 'born' the day after me. we had great fun, many friends were there, everyone had a wonderful time etc...

less than a week later many of those friends were no longer friends for one reason or another, so next year will almost certainly be my partner and my celebration alone...

Mmmmm some good stuff here. I have never been to a rez day party let alone had one yet. However I too know how to party. Spending it with people you care about seems a very good way to me :) so that is probably what I will do.

4 rez-days later...

I usually log in and contemplate the nature of addiction.

On my 2nd rez-day I actually canceled my account.. it seemed so dramatic and final... only to reactivate it 89 days later (coz after 90 days you have to jump thru some serious hoops to reactivate an account).

Rez-days, birthdays ... eh. After enough of them, they lose a lot of charm.

I opened up my private club for the month to any verified adult as a thank you to the other people who make SL the fascinating adventure it is. On the actual day, I will probably just hang out and build stuff like I usually do.

Invite your friends, if they don't show up, then you need new friends.

And about that partner ...they should have been busy arranging a party for you. You need a new partner. Some who cares, is understanding, and has a name that starts with a "Y". ;)
I would start the day with a trip to a beach for a little surfing. Then off for a balloon ride across several sims where we could see the landscaping details and talk about what SL means to you. Once we land, it would be time for the presents. Shopping for a ball gown where money is merely an after thought. The gown will of course need jewelry, shoes and possibly lingerie for the complete, inside out elegance. Mere rags when compared to the beauty of your heart, but these are the best the artist of this world can do. Then off for a time of slow dancing in a formal setting. I can assure you, I would be the envy of everyone there. And finally, we take a limo home. … where all your friends are waiting with a live band, hot music and laughter. More gifts to fill your inventory are waiting for you. From teddy bears to a pony to starfighters to a copy of the very balloon we rode in earlier. Late in the night as the last of the guests begin to leave, I would give you a hug and kiss and whisper “happy resday” in your ear. I would be happy to know that I would then have a full year to plan your next resday party. Maybe I could come close to giving you the day you deserve.
