Low prim furniture is merely a way of limiting our choices and dictating our lifestyle. It's a leftisit plot to force socialism on us all, with the ultimate goal of a One World Furniture Store No, it's a right wing plan to force socialism on us, so we rebel and AR all the low prim furniture, then we will all live in glory with 1000 prim toilets. _____________________

I think it should be a combination of ARC + prims. If your ARC is over 2000, you can only sit in a 2 prim chair. From 1000 - 2000, you can sit in chairs with 3 - 20 prims. Those with ARCs under 1000 can sit in anything.
Of course there should also be eco-green PrimShare laws for couches and loveseats. _____________________

I am reminded by this thread of the prim bank wars pre-viewer 1.2.
In any event, this so called prim allocation scheme is nothing more than a conspiracy concocted by Linden Labs to encourage the sale of more land. There is no shortage of prims. The entire continent of Sansara sits on a mostly untapped reservoir of un-refined primtroleum. Speculation as to why, centers on the ancient event that caused the atoll's creation. Namely the asteroid impact on the shallow seas that existed there previously. Linden Labs (through a shell company) maintains a very large primtoleum drilling operation on the ANWR sim, which is located in the narrow strip of sims that connect Sansara and Heterocera. From time to time, wild cat drilling rigs pop up in the inland Heteroceran seas, producing crude for the thriving black market prim trade. _____________________

My ARC is way above 2000 but... I prefer to stand anyways I was at a venue and some guy was shouting off everyones ARC .. I was like wtf.... I frankly dont care what your ARC is and I turned it off after scanning a few people and noticing most were in the 2000 range... yeah whatever who cares i really dont think it effects my pc all that much.. I find the "show look at" and "show point at" much more useful. |

Lol, this is a nice thread. But there is a distinct difference between 'good' low prim and 'bad' low prim.
'Bad' low prim = extremely low prim and it shows! 'Good' low prim = as few prims as possible but still top notch quality. My shop Symfurny of course offers only 'good' low prim. Whereas Mr. Deakins shop... ah well... I *do* love this game |

 At Linden Lab, it is our first and foremost intention to improve the quality of your Second Life experience. We listen to your concerns and make every effort to shape policies to better serve all residents. Up until now, there has been mounting problems with "low prim" furniture creators and sellers. It is our position, that this so-called "low prim" resource has caused economic hardship to otherwise excessive and over-elaborate creators. We also agree with our residents, that using low prim furniture needlessly wastes global resources which should rightfully be tapped to the fullest extent. Afterall, CPU cycles are a terrible thing to waste. As such, our next RC 1.24.0 will include changes to our Terms of Service, where "low prim" furniture will only be allowed in certain regions, provided sellers show proof they are "real world" low prim furniture sellers. Upon verification, using low prim furniture will only be allowed on parcels flagged as certified and may only be purchased from Linden Lab or XStreetSL. Non-compliance with these rules, could lead to inaction from Linden Lab. Repeat offenders will be asked to try "high prim" furniture for a probationary period, prior to being ignored entirely. The most egregious abusers will have tier fees decreased as a penalty for unused global resources and may face further decreases for non-compliance. Feedback is essential and our G-Team will overlook important issues to address your concerns. |
