Best pets?

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a place to purchase a realistic house pet.

I have seen some very nice looking dobermans (that even respond to some simple commands). Anyone know of some other pets that are a bit more realistic or interesting than the basic oval and circle animals? (Originally I was looking for a dog, wolf or big cat, but decided not to limit myself).

Thanks!

I happened to find Penny's today. Every breed of dog imagineable there. It was a virtual Westminster Dog Show there. Very expensive, $1500L, I don't even know what they do, but they looked amazing and I would think for that money, they must be very expressive. Best looking ones I've seen yet.

They also had other animals, bears, foxes, tigers, cats, etc. All equally pricey.

A friend of mine has a squirrel, called Nibbles. I'll ask her if you like. He's messy though.

You might want to ask Love or Hate whichever one you see first... errr, never mind that is a different kind of pet

The realistic squirrels are from Second Wildlife. Their movements are very convincing. (Mine is named Archimedes.) But I'm starting to see them around a lot of other places so I'm thinking of moving on to something else.

I also have a butterfly that follows me from Papillons Farm, St Barth. It only works in places you can build though.

I'd sure like something different - maybe an armadillo or a lemur. I guess there's not much market for those . . . A HORSE! That's what I want.

I love the dogs from VKC. VERY expensive, but well scripted. They obey the usual commands, plus are trainable. I have a rottweiler and love that when I TP in home, he comes running no matter where he is on the property. Pretty cool.

Oh, and the horses from either AKK or McLeans. Both horses are great, but McLean's poop where as AKK horses are poop-free :D

There is also Paradise Aquatics and Pets that just released an experimental cat that follows you on command and obeys basic commands, but doesn't roam freely on the property like the dogs from VKC. They just sit there and don't move if you command them to stop following though.

The previous replies listed the other cool places to find great pets and critters.

I've visited VKC: nice scripting, ridicoulus looking (they are alines not dogs), more than ridicolous price (i found a ugly one @6000 L$), and no copy! Oh god.. i'm gonna loose a 6k pet?
I've visited Pennys': dunno about scripts (i believe the basic pets command: follow.. etc.), ridicolous looking (maybe worst than VKC), lower price than VKC but still too high for that quality (about 2k).
I've visited Zoobies: ahhhh finally somethig thay you may call dog (or cats.. or whatever). Sculpted, basic scripts (follow, attack, follow a route), still high in price imho but lower than others (1300).

There's no doubt.. Zoobies (actually) is the best... and by VERY far.

I have to agree, love their pets! They also have cute sock monkeys. Funny, I don't have a home yet in SL but my inventory is full of pets. When I finally decide to settle down somewhere, I don't think there will be any prims left for furniture. What can I say, I'm a softie - I can't seem to be able to walk by a horse, dog, cat or whatever without buying one...

Smart-assed answer: There are a lot of humans around that make nice pets....

real awnser: as has been said, Zoobys is excellent quality. My own pet is a murder of ravens that I purhcased at .:: [BLOOD] ::. that I adore. Not an ordinary pet, but lots of fun. Was a fan of D&D Dogs, inc too, but from reading your post you probably aren't interested in them.

For clarity - VKC must hold your details on a database or something; if you 'lose' your dog, you can go to their 'Vet' and Touch to activate a script which rezzes a new dog for you to Take.

Please don't insult Nibbles, he's only little :o

He's the kind of squirrel from Second Wildlife and unbelievably cute!!!

Also the only animal that roams my garden apart from some gorgeous butterflies from Natural Fantasies and hummingbirds from Pond Life.

Last night I became the proud owner of a purple ferret that sits on my shoulder called Chip.

And a two dimensional cat that is stuck to my arm called Toddy.

Its fair to say that I'd had a drink.

Just to be on the safe side, I've just sent you a few little dragons that follow you around as well :D (if you've got one already, you know where the delete button is)

Their chatter gets irritating as mosquitos after a while, but you've got to experience it at least once in your life. :p

Perhaps I could surround myself with as many creatures as possible and become a sort of St Francis of Assisi / Doctor Dolittle character??

I do like the idea of a realistic dog following me about though (and dragons).

Morning Sally!

Actually I'm keepin an eye on this one, because I quite fancy a cat that strolls behind me, or sits on the back of the unicorn.
Just not a talking one........ the animal chatter is a pet peeve of mine :p

Mornin Sandy! Mmm, that last sentence explains a lot.

Beware the six-foot white rabbit. The pink elephants are purely transitory but be careful of the rabbit .. it changed James Stewarts life!

Morning Sandy, how's Toddy doing this morning?

I heard about a place you can go and if you hatch an egg you get a little dragon that sits on your shoulder. i bet that'd be pretty cool. Apparently they are well made as well. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the place lol.

What you're talking about are Drakelets, from Grendel's Children. VERY cool. and only L$30. You buy an egg, and have to search to find a 'hatching place'. Once you find it you have to wait there for an hour or so for the egg to hatch. (Clever marketing ploy - you pay to camp, lol). There are 20 or so different places and depending on which you find they control the type of Drakelet you egg hatches into.

Mine is called Hermione and never leaves my shoulder.

Didn't realise it was that cool lol. Might go and search for one myself. L$30 is not bad. And they do look very nice draklets.
