Follow me Pet

I'm looking for an SL pet!

I'd love to have a dog or puppy as a pet in SL and I've searched pet shops but haven't quite found what I'm looking for.

Pets seem to be quite expensive so I'd like to shop around some more before buying.

Two main things that I want is......to follow me and look realistic (no carved out of wood.)

Any Suggestions?

i like D&D for dogs. they also sell dog avatars.

I did see some realistic dogs....IM me inworld and I'll get you the LM.

I wanted to write something about dogs and pets here, but... nah.

Would they be animated pets and appear to walk? You could attach them I suppose so that it would be with you. That would be neat - let's not confine it to dogs and cats - I want a Dragon Lizard!

I bought a dog one of my first days in-worls. Very disapointing - looks like a cardboard cut-out so I have not let him out to play again. Would be interested if there is something available more interactive.

Wynx has some absolutely fabulous "arm" dragons. Blinking eyes, wagging tail, firebreathing, neat-o dragons. And they're about the length of a standard SL av's upper arm.

The ones I've seen are animated and walk around. The also respond to commands like come, fetch and sit.

I actually saw some dragon flies and hummingbirds for sale that were pretty kewl but I think they were to put on your own land and not necessarily be with you at all times. I saw them at Loobey's (loobies Zoo) SP?

Actually they do follow you and will be attached to your chest I read. Pretty cool indeed.

I love pets! Uhm, wrong wording... I mean, I have nothing against them But the ones I sell at my Environmental Institution aren't interactive, and the interactive pets at my other shop might be... inappropriate somehow.

lol aleister, cheynnnne does know your interactive pets i think I do have them in my club where she's working sometimes Hi cheynnne, your boss would like to buy you a following pet I also saw penguins, that would be cool on lovelands ice and snow. I believe a penguin would also love our aquarium better then a dragon or a hummingbird

Sarah Nerd's freebie place has some follower dragons. They don't really "follow," but are attached, so they will always be (say) 1 foot behind your left shoulder. Do a places search for "Sarah Nerd's Freebie Paradise".

You can get small follower thingies (similar) from Grendel's Children. They're like dragons, but not quite.

Wynx's little shoulder and arm dragons are *amazing*. She has kittens too. Wynx Whiplash; do a people search on her, and follow her picks.

Bah none of those are realistic enough. I will tell you how to get the most realistic pet in sl.

Step one go around some seedier sims and look around for somone with a title like "top me' "Dom me" or such. After finding one prescet to talk to them like a good pet. At that point just slap a freebie collar on them and pick a good name for them. Lassie is always good.

Step two. Go to the werehouse and click on critter and pick the kind of puppy you want. Now this is the important part. Give the pet the money and have them buy the four leged form you want them to wear. If you try and buy it youself you will just have waisted 1k.

step three. Enjoy.You ahve your very own pet that can take proper orders and can follow you around on a leash and everthing else. And it will be the best animated and most interactive pet you can have on sl.

D&D has realy cute follow me dogs. they blink, do tricks, etc. you can buy just the dog, or the tricks and hud.

they also sell avatars, so, as Tasrill just mentioned, you can have a pet av, IF you can get someone to follow you around.

I can be a dog, or have a dog follow me (and a cat) or be a dog that has a dog (and cat) follow me.

I also have a collar that you can get your dog av friend to wear, so you can control his actions. heh heh

LOL, I actually never even thought about an SL human pet.

The thing that got me wanting one was that I picked up a freebie dragon that follows me around (attached to my shoulder) and I thought it would be kewl to have something a little more realistic looking and Ok to have out everywhere. (People in toon town may not like me dragging my collared pet through their land. lol)

Anyway, I think I've been to most of the places mentioned. I just know as soon as I get one... another place will turn up that has something better. lol

You can create an alt for yourself, log in twice, and make yourself your own pet!

Cheynnne, I'd recommend you check out the dogs at the Virtual Kennel Club (one is in Caledon, I can't remember the other sim). Various breeds are available, they can follow, sit, roll over, and other fun things. Very realistic.

Also, you can play with the dogs before you buy them, at the VKC. I own one of their Rottweilers, which I'd be more than happy to show you once SL is back online.

yeah, but so wut? i got my av for $600, and my pet for $500.

i've spent more than that on one pair of shoes.

plus, if you went to D&D, you saw that they are really cute. i got the german shepard as a pet, and he gaurds my land. his name is "Security" and when anyone clicks on him, he WOOFS!

it's not that i'm pushing a company i won't get any profit from, but i really believe in their product. enough to push it! LOL

Virtual Kennel Club's dogs are nice, as are the ones from D&D Dogs. One of my alts has a Terrier from D&D Dogs. It plays Fetch and does other tricks. My biggest complaint against prim dogs is that in most cases, the legs don't move. It's like having a stuffed dog on wheels.

If you have a friend that wants to 'be your puppy', then the idea of a quad avatar as your 'pet' is kind of fun too. I have an alt that does that on occasion, sometimes even logging on as Ceera and as the alt in puppy form, so Ceera can have a fully interactive dog with her. Avatars as Pets move better, too.

yes. as a dog avatar, my little legs move all over. and i do tricks and poop and hike my leg to pee and everything.

i hope someone comes up with a cat avatar, similiar. i don't jsut want to be a neko, i want to BE a cat.

I know they sell pet cats and dogs at Zooby's, but I have not yet purchased one,
so I don't know how realistic they are.

Has anyone come out with a cat avatar yet? Not one that walks on two feet, but as a cat.

Damanios Thetan has scripted pet cats that walk around, play with a toy ball, and occasionally lie down wherever they are and sleep; very cute. They don't exactly follow, but they might come when you call, if they feel like it... kinda like real cats.

I was going to say Zooby's. I have the carry persian cat and it's very realistic. I notice they now do sculptie follow pets which I have only seen the pics of, but the pets I have seen have been very good, the best in SL.
