I think that's it. I'm not talking about things like megaflexy hair that lags everyone, .
Okay question for you since you bring this up and I think it's a farce 1) Most hair is not scripted 2) Most hair is all one texture 3) is just prims So in saying that people claim ahh your hair is lagging the sim so what you are saying is this example Say the hair is 189 prim all one texture no scripts ( you claim that lagging the sim ) So in theory if i build 189 prim boxes texture them all with one picture ( or one texture ) it's going to cause massive lag cause that is exactly what hair is Can you prove me different please do

Most hair is not all one texture - one color, sure, multiple textures of that color, yes. People do make hair from sculpties.

Thinking something is a farce is fine. It is however better to have the experience or historical information to know what you are calling a farce though.

From: Darius Seljan So in saying that people claim ahh your hair is lagging the sim Stop. Megaflexy hair doesn't lag the sim, it lags the viewer. What in the name of Cassius Quincy Fantod would make you think that a message about viewer-side effects (emerald viewer attachment points, facelights set by people who have local lights disabled) would suddenly for no reason at all suddenly switch to talking about sim lag? Jesus Harold Christ on a steam motorbike, some people...

From: Darius Seljan Can you prove me different please do To expand slightly on Argent's answer, there's two sorts of lag. Server side lag is when stuff's happening that gives the sim too much work to do -- lots of avatars moving around, for example, so the sim has to keep track of who's where and keep everyone's viewer informed of this. Client side lag is when your computer (frequently your graphics card) has too much work to do as a result of processing the information and instructions it's sent (e.g. "so-and-so's hair is flexy -- make it appear so on his screen" . In your example, the sim's not fussed about whether the 189 prims are simple boxes or megaflexy hair, but your graphics card will probably feel the difference because it's got to do a lot more work drawing and re-drawing the latter.

Can you prove me different please do It's verbal shorthand. Hair with a lot of alpha-textured flexiprims and/or sculpties can cause viewer side lag. Hair with resize scripts in it can cause sim side lag. Both types of lag can be caused by hair, and both look the same to the lagged person (unless they're reading the sim stats). So the common phrase is, "your hair's lagging me, beyotch!"

From: Ciera Spyker was I talking to you donkeybutt or should I say richard?? I dont THINK so....... And how is buying land griefing? If I fraking want to I will. If I want to put a 1000 chickens on a plot I will.
Your not worth the time of day as it is. So this conversation is over. Post in a public forum and you will be replied to. Here's what you threatened below. What you threatened to do *is* griefing. From: Ciera Spyker Thats a wonderful piece of land there for sale in ironchurch. It would make a great gif factory. Or, mmmm, maybe a particle based home or, I know! a Chicken ranch! The question is, is 200usd worth my time to just annoy a nonbeliever. And then theres the fact its on a slope that just makes it almost useless for anything at all. Still I have bought land out of spite before...
Hi neighbor!
Ciera (Doesnt that sound nice?)

Well, first of all, Ciera and Love are just having fun with each other. See earlier posts.
Second, what Ciera is proposing is despicable, dirty, underhanded, enormously annoying...and perfectly legal.
Buying land isn't griefing. Putting a build, of whatever sort, on it isn't griefing, with certain limited exceptions. If Ciera uglied up the parcel and then set it for sale at, say, ten times the going market rate, Love might have a case for submitting an AR under the ad farm extortion policy. If Ciera's particle rezzers or chicken flock lagged out the sim, Love could possibly AR her for misuse of sim resources.
That's what I'd do. Those damn cluckers...
Why, I even found one in a box at a popular clothing store the other day, being handed out as a freebie. That's one store that just lost me as a customer.
