My pet peeve are the stores with so many drones and campers the sim is lagged to the max. You can barely move because the store owner is trying to get a higher traffic count. Basically, any traffic over 5,000 is from campers and drones (except for that occasional big event that boosts traffic). You can either support that kind of nonsense, or just say NO and don't spend your lindens there to encourage them.

At XXXX furniture, we dont use campers, we dont use drones, just real honest traffic in our double sim store.

What, are you running for office?

After selecting the proper forum to pimp yo warez, you might consider actually telling folks something positive about your products instead of something negative about the business practices of your competitors.

i dont know what makes you think bri was banned.
she has never been banned from these forums.

as far as large yachts go, chandon has you creamed at a fraction of the cost.
From: Blaze Nielsen
Ahhh yes, it was quite a relief however to have that someone removed from the forums for, ummm a month? We've all seen that behavior before in the forums, and I'm quite sure we'll see it again until Lindens say enough is enough.

And on another note:
Yes Lance I agree those are extraordinary examples of craftsmanship in sl and my favorites as well. However, functionality, design, taste are all things that each individual must choose for themselves. Lets say you were looking for a large yacht to entertain a lot of guests in. Those creators don't offer a yacht with animated hot tubs, animated showers, 60+ custom animation bed, steam spa, television and color lighting system, and over 25 animated seats throughout the yacht. Nor do they offer a texas style party barge nor a jungle boat, just a couple of the unique watercraft available at Virgin Isle Marina - over 45 craft in all. Guess what I'm saying is, its apples and oranges.

Oooh yes, pointing out one of the threads that was closed by lindens due to slander, a TOS violation that got ummmm someone banned from the forums. Sorry kiddo.Wonder if lindens have a third strike rule here.

Banned?

I have never in 5 years been "banned" from the SL Forums or "Life banned".

Nor was i warned or anything of the sorts.

Where do you get off claiming i was banned?

what she said. If i were interested at all in buying a prim monster, i would get one of chandon's, those at least are drivable, and are a damn fine build, with no gaps between prims and well aligned textures...

but i'd rather stay under 255 prims and NOT hog all resources of an openspace sim just to show off ;)

The thread was not "slanderous" or it would have been deleted.

You start this up again Blaze and I will re-rev up my campaign about your horribly built boats with bloated prices.

Lets see now, did I say you were banned, I dont think so. I said "someone" . Thread closed due to TOS complaints, and a certain high volume poster "someone" is off the air for a month, hmmmm, coincidence? I think not.

And, hmmmmm, was that a threat Briana? Perhaps you might reread the TOS and forum guidelines once again. fyi

One more point Nina, yes, Chandon makes some wonderful yachts, highly detailed. However, I've chosen to take a more conservative prim build for mine. He uses 1500 prims to get highly detailed builds, I use 400 or 500 for a similar build. To each his own.

Someone really should start offering a Public Relations for hire service for SL and the forums. I am completely flabbergasted how some buisiness owners can not see the harm they are doing themselves when they post negatively, for whatever reason.

i completely agree Jesse....given no other exposure to a creator other than some vicious posts, i would make it a point never to do business with them for fear of the same treatment as a customer. The written word is a powerful thing and choosing to take the low road in a public forum as a reply to ANY post is a form a negative marketing for the poster.

BTW i do teach marketing in SL....and just as i mention posting good things in the forums to get known and get exposure...the same can be said for ALL negative posts. They DO get read, people DO pay attention and people DO remember.

But does your marketing education business use campers and drones?

No kaimi, my marketing techniques are all about brand identity and promoting your biz through marketing channels. I do not teach about using campers or bots...why do you ask?

If you would like a transcript of my class text i would be happy to drop it along to you or anyone else who asks.

My comments here are meant to encourage folks to be positive and understand that snide remarks and negative posts can go a long way to damaging a biz reputation.

I'm not sure I see how posting a Classifieds in the Resident Answers section is a huge moral advantage over using Campers.

Huge moral advantage? No..

I'll take it (for now) over somebody who tries to convince me that traffic bots are just clever marketing, though.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Just to divert this sort of in the area that I thought it would go from the title (still with me here?), the best furniture places have all the furniture where you can check for actual prims. The second best have prims listed on the display boards. The worst spend all their time putting up pictures of furniture with prices, but no idea of how many prims for the item.

I don't buy if I can't sit first. No more lame, butt half into the marble bench, things for me...

QFT. Well, said!

It does well to remember that if you are trying to "pimp yo' warez", to not insult the intelligence and/or tastes of potential customers.

And if you really want to put your brand out there in the forums, do it in your sig, like the rest of us :p

One less potential customer here, I'm afraid.

1. This is Resident Answers, not the Shopping forum.
2. Snide and snippy is NOT a good indicator of what your customer service may be like.
3. Eh, forget 3....1 and 2 are sufficient for me to be sure I never set foot in any business which you may be involved in.

Personally I love finding stores with lots of traffic bots. Sometimes the bots are all huddled on platforms high in the air so you can round them up then 'bump' them off the platform lemming style.

If they are all sat on camping chairs or dancing or what not, you can get your av into intersting positions so it looks like the bot is doing something inappropriate to my 'trouser' area for example and then send the pics to the land owner and post them on snapzilla

Hours of fun.

if they're so busy with their fake <i>friends<i> who buy nothing, crowd out and lag up the area, perhaps they dont need the business.

I found after only a couple months it didn't matter how fancy my house was, I was never there anyway. A well appointed dance studio suits me just fine and I made what little is in there to boot.
