From: Yumi Murakami No, a lot of the business owners were complaining about having to pay VAT, it's true, and were probably complaining directly about the tax.
However, this may have been because they weren't aware that as businesses they aren't supposed to be paying VAT on anything that would make them uncompetitive as a result. Well. Okay. I guess. Is there a way that is more practical then charging Euros for every single L$ purchase they make in world? If there isn't then someone should lobby LL to change the way the whole buying system works to accommodate the VAT.

From: Ordinal Malaprop Well, no. You don't choose to pay sales tax, because you don't pay it. The merchant pays it and adds it on to the price you pay. I suppose you have the choice whether to buy the thing at all or not in the first place but paying the tax is not optional for you. "I suppose you have the choice whether to buy the thing at all or not in the first place" yes and that was my point.. if i dont want to pay the tax hidden in the price i see, or stated plainly.... i dont buy. The price i choose to pay.. is the one debited from my bank account. nothing is hidden,i know the final price.. so paying the tax, hidden or stated is an option.. i choose to pay on purchase or not purchase.. its what i said.. In effect its almost like hidden profit margin.. when i choose to buy, i accept that the real value of the item has an added profit margin.. i might never know what that is.. the price i see.. is the price i choose to pay.. its my option.. i accept it.. or not. No one forces me to buy a product.. yet.., unlike income tax.. i must accept that.. i have no option not pay income tax unless i deal in cash. even that has been taxed somewhere unless its stolen.
