Lots of creators have been really great with small changes to this or that if you can approach it politely. I have a few times asked some folks for boots and shoes without all the buckles and tassles and bling and studs on them, or this or that piece in another layer (usually so I can wear underwear with it, haha). Usually what I am asking never takes too much work, and they are almost always happy to oblige. It never hurts to ask

I've really fallen for the designs at a Icing. It is a smaller shop, but the clothes are very high quality and are a nice blend of classy, sophisticated sexiness and girl-next-door charm. Please post SLURLS when talking about places, teasing is a bannable offense! (well no it ain't but should be, LOL cause search is too flaky). I still think the coverage issue is the way the templates in SL works, or I think that's what I was told. I saw a bathing suit that actually looked anatomically correct, with coverage in the back and everything, (and it didn't look like goofy pants in the front!). I was told that this is VERY difficult to do, and requires a lot of wizardry with alphas or something. The same is with tops and cleavage, the templates have to be tortured to get them to work right, and it's a lot of guesswork and re-uploading to get them to look right. I am no expert on this so correct me if I am wrong, but it makes sense. Seems that any of the women who worked at Linden could have noticed all this way back, so even the standard in game clothing tools would work better than they do, but oh well... |

...ps: and for some really nice and ladylike shoes: Teslas...thanks to whomever mentioned this store on the forums, im in love!!! You're welcome! Tesla's moved to a bigger store now, and have expanded their shoe selection. I'm still waiting for some really fab strappy dancing sandals from them, though. (Or, for that matter, from anyone else. Why can't I find strappys with the same attention to details that Tesla, Moody's, and Armidi are putting into their pumps and boots?) Another store that has just come out with some dynamite sculpty pumps and boots is Redgrave. _____________________

I made a new thread....feel free to chime in /327/3a/242413/1.html#post1880244 Maitreya's sandals are wonderful. I can't post any more SLURLs for some reason, I get a "too many" error. Sorry, I can give you the goodies in SL if you ask Redgrave had some nice boots before christmas, and I got some from Bax that are NOT sculpties. I won't hijack this thread for just shoes, lol. but try Insolence and Kittie's Lair (which was NOT the type of place I expected to find some... ), by Babette Ultsch. Bax and KL have some nifty (complicated) sound menus...As more people get used to sculpties this is all going to go wild ![]() |

I'm actually not into old fashioned as such, that's not what conservative means, I do like modern, just classy , which I think this is what this thread was about. Yes older vintage is conservative too. |

Simone! Design has some reasonably modest dresses, especially the businesswear line. She also has some nice pumps that have only a modest heel. I think Shiny Things also has some good pumps.
As for the pants, you could try wearing men's pants; they are usually higher waisted than the female versions. And for the more casual pants anyway, the designs work just fine otherwise. |

I do like modern, just classy , which I think this is what this thread was about. Well, that's what it turned into. Though I admit a bit, well, a great deal of skepticism about anything worn by Britney Spears or Paris Hilton being considered classy. I haven't had much time yet to look at the stores recc'd here; I tried Last Call first because of the sale, and I have to say I wasn't impressed. Maybe the clothing more to my taste is on the second floor where I haven't been yet, but on the first floor I found one outfit that I might consider modest (an ugly dressage jacket and white top that I bought anyway for the sake of the shirt). Having tops on multiple layers doesn't help if the tops themselves are still low-cut and sleeveless. Re: full-coverage underwear -- There's a pretty set of tintable lace-edged shorts available free from ... some store I can't remember *g*, but I can't seem to find it on SLX or OnRez. If anyone's interested, IM me in-world and I'll look up the details. Abby, there were a handful of Pakistani women at my college who wore long-tunic-and-pants outfits similar to that Vietnamese one, and I was always horribly jealous of them. It looked so comfortable, but the patterns were still pretty! I'll have to look for those in-world. |

Rihanna, I recently put together a selection of outfits I can use for my business interests here in SL. I can highly recommend Indira Bekker's clothing, they aren't the cheapest but they are good quality, fashionably formal and very stylish. You'll find them in SLEx under 'Women's Business Attire'. Astrid From the photos on slx they do seem to be v good quality.Call me fussy but for that price you would think the detail would be correct, The ladies jackets have the buttons on the wrong side. |

You're right, International House of Style is amazing. I stood there in awe the first time I went. Hmmm.. I'm due for another visit. I've bookmarked this thread and have been shopping like a mad woman these last few days. I see you've been doing the same, hehe. |
