Lost about Zindra

I got an email today from Lindens, and tried searching the forums..and never have any luck finding what I need. Just where the heck do you go to find the Zindra regions? Below is a copy of the e-mail.. just where do you go to find the replacement land? sheshh!

It has come to our attention that your parcel or classified contains adult keywords or has been categorized as Adult, but that it is not currently located on adult land. According to our recent changes in regard to adult content, adult content must be moved to Zindra.
Please note that once the free relocation to Zindra has completed, parcels or classifieds that contain adult search terms but are not located in adult land will no longer be visible in PG or Mature searches in the All tab. As soon as possible, please update your Classifieds or Show in Search listings so that the maturity level of the keywords matches the maturity level of the parcel. You will also need to choose a category other than Adult for your parcel, as this category has been replaced by the Adult maturity. This will allow your listings to show up properly in search.
If your parcel has commercialized adult content or services, you are entitled to land equivalent to your existing parcel(s) on Zindra -- at no charge -- if your request is received by this Friday, July 24.
After July 24, we will no longer accept any new requests for the free relocation to Zindra but will continue to process any requests that are still pending. If you have already submitted a Zindra migration request, please disregard this notice.

Here it comes. People who had no idea this was happening, finding out for the first time...a day before the swap requests are to close. Way to go, LL. You've managed to fuck this up beyond all possible predictions.

I used to just click on the links in the Linden blog entry about Zindra. Then I took some landmarks there and just use those, now.

Do you want me to send you a couple of Zindra landmarks in world? Just let me know if so.

The conspiracy theorist in me says they did this on purpose because they know if they HAD informed the majority of users ahead of time they never would have been able to pull the big bait and switch off.

Leinani, several of us got that email, it looks like it went out to many people, and at least in my case I'm not really sure yet why. I was told to submit a ticket with questions about the email under the land/region>>I have questions about adult content and Zindra category.

I would encourage you to do that, but if you think there is any chance you have adult content and would qualify for a land swap by all means get to Zindra using the resources others have given here, pick a parcel, and get that request in before the deadline.

Basically you were supposed to register your commercial/whatever endeavor as adult and sign up for a land swap ...

In order for you to continue on business as usual.

But what they REALLY wanted was for you to clean up your act, self censor yourself, and quit being or selling naughty stuff.

Silks themselves shouldn't be a problem, but you are likely using keywords now flagged as adult. If that is the case, you can remove those keywords and as long as the content itself isn't adult, you should be able to stay where you are.

This list of keywords might help. Slave, for example, is a problem keyword. Don't know if you use that, but that is the sort of thing that could be the problem. I'm so sorry all of this new information is coming at you so fast, and the deadline is so soon.

I half agree with you on this. At the same time, there have been a number of LL blog posts and other discussions about this move. I want to think there was something on the Message of the Day, too.

As such, while I think they *should* have sent notice to *all* members via e-mail at some point prior to now, I think there is also a bit of personal responsibility that many missed. If you are running a business or are more than a casual user, I would *hope* one at least pokes at the blog now and then.

There should have been a message of the day DAILY to everyone who owns Mature land for the last couple of months.

If your cell phone company told you you can no longer swear on the phone unless you changed plans (and spots were limited!) you would be pretty annoyed if they gave you 1 day notice.

The majority of residents simply don't check the forums and the blogs. Maybe they should, but really they just don't. They, for some reason, actually log into Second Life and play, socialize, build in-world and consider that good enough.

I honestly feel bad for these types of residents because LL had it within their power to send email notification about a MAJOR change in the terms of use of mature land at any time over the last 4 months, but chose to wait to the day before land swaps close to actually do so.

Good customer service is about seeing to the needs of ALL your customers, not just the ones who behave as expected. I mean, think about it, these are all land-holding, tier paying customers that LL gave a single day to take action on a land swap. That's a big decision. How many people can really absorb all the information (much of it conflicting) and make a decision on whether to change your home/store/project or uproot it? That's a lot to deal with in 24 hours, especially when you realize this has been in the works since March!

Honestly, I'm just really really taken aback by LL's action. A lot of residents got ambushed by these changes and it didn't have to be this way.

If the Lindens don't read the forums how can they expect the Users to?

Yes, they should have done their emailing at least a week ago. AND they need to put it in the MOTD that tomorrow is the last day for the free adult land exchange.

But like the land sale system, there are only so many ways LL can hold a person's hand through a process. It has been listed in the blog at least twice and chewed to death here. It's probably hit a lot of personal blogs and some minor news articles too.

*snirks* Though, honestly, I don't read the blog.. unless someone mentions it here. I don't think the average user thinks there's anything in it about them either... until they get spanked by the G-team for using those naughty pose balls on the lawn....

Over the past few months I've informed a LOT of friends and acquaintances about the coming implementation of "adult" land and was met with disbelief. Till I showed them the blog post and forum threads.

My guess is, the cluster F is just beginning.

What I think LL should have done is made it so that everybody on their next login gets a screen display like the TOS/CS changes acceptance screens we used to see and told about the changes there. They should have then had to click to say they read it and understood. All this should have happened right at the beginning of the land grab...move to Zindra.

Of course what they really ought to have done is left things the way they were, lots of other problems need working on that people actually want them to work on, instead of something nobody wanted them to work on.
