What is Xstreet SL?

Does anybody know?

It's a shopping site for SL, owned by LL. People who make things in SL can sell them via Xstreet.

:0 and it began as an independent operation, first called 'sl Exchange'... then just recently (what, this past winter/spring??) first changed name to 'xStreet', to conform with new lab trademark guidelines... then the lab decided 'heck, just buy it out; they're useful for the world and already have done much of the work for us...' ;0

just so you know that this is the -only- case where it is okay to enter your main grid sl username -and- password; that was not always the case until fairly recently. any other non-lab site asks for your main grid un/pw, -report 'em- to the lab!! :\

If you register there with payment info you can order things online there. And it delivers it in SL to your avatar.

But I've had things not show up if I ordered while SL wasn't open. :/

Did you get charged for them? Every time I have ever ordered something through SXtreet and (for whatever reason) it wasn't delivered, I wasn't charged for it. IN fact, I think LL keeps your funds in a sort of escrow until delivery is confirmed.

I am not sure that I looked, but I think in at least one case, I did look and yes, I was charged and it never showed up.

That rules out annna then.

I've never had a missed delivery. If you are marked "Busy" or if your IM's are capped the delivery will fail, though. I think it's because IM technology is used for the delivery, but I'm not sure. I try to make sure I'm logged in world when I make an XSL purchase.

You don't need to insult people who don't have that stupid credit card,i just asked what is it Xstreet sl.Get it? And believe me i'm not that old to have a credit card,i still study.

annna, I don't know if you're in the US but if you are you can get a prepaid debit card at Walmart for $3.00. It works just like a Visa and you can "reload" it at Walmart and many of the drug store chains using cash. It's issued by GE under the "GreenDot" label. It's a good way to protect yourself against stupid errors by online vendors and you can set it up as your SL payment option, and LL will automatically debit it.

You are right, today, and I don't know why, I had a problem with my box and everything is unavailable for sale, but my customers are receiving this msg:

"1stName Surname" attempted to purchase an item of yours through Xstreet SL, but we were unable to deliver it. THE SHOPPER WAS NOT CHARGED, so you do not have to redeliver the item or issue a refund.

So tonight when I arrive at home I'll need to reez again the box and put again all my items there and put them available at Xstreet (the box was returned to me, I think by mistake by one of the land owners lolol)

I bet that you live in Europe, more like in Bosnia: since you speak also that language - just saw yr profile, and after some of your replies I hope you are not under 18... "i'm not that old to have a credit card" most of the credit cards are given to 18+ ...

You DON'T need to register payment info. There are a lot of freebies on XStreetSL. One thousand pages of them, at the moment.

You do not need to register payment info in order to buy stuff on XStreetSL. You can pay an XStreetSL terminal in-world in order to deposit funds to XStreetSL from your in-world account.

That's actually a good question, Annna, and you got the answers you need. I use XStreetSL all the time, it can be a quicker way to search for a product than doing it in world. Browse to http://www.xstreetsl.com

On payment methods...you've said you don't have a credit card, but you've never said whether you could get one of the alternatives we have suggested. Either a PayPal account on line (http://www.paypal.com) or a pre-paid debit card. Even if there are no Wal-Marts where you are, I *know* there are debit cards. They are everywhere (well, except maybe in Antarctica).

First, that was far from an insult. Second, the comment was not given because you don't have a credit card but because even if you had one you would most likely not be willing to invest your own money. That's just the impression one gets from beggars.

That is true,we don't have money to waste on that,maybe that's why all people go to live in Germany or America,but that is not importing right now.But that i have my job and my job i would buy some good shop in sl,and on that way,earn.

You missed Annna's first post, in a different forum a few days ago. She was asking for money, and other people (including me) expressed displeasure at the idea.

But I think it's rather small of us to keep bringing it up.

Ah thank you- and agreed - no need to keep it up- she may not have known the etiquette of the place.

For example, I am sure she is not aware of the condescending tone of the post just before you and assume she might also be missing a bit of the language subtleties that might turn that rather slap post into something more in the seeking of knowledge. As in, "I see by your number of posts, you must in fact be a lady of leisure who chooses to spend her precious time in sharing her all too rich life with others in similar situations. So I do not comprehend how you could have missed what was being refered to."

At which point I would of course answer most pleasantly as is my wont with a simple invite to tea so we can further discuss the finer points of shopping on XStreets. A pleasant time would have been had by all and we would have left the day wreathed in smiles. Sadly that wil never occur now, since I have clearly missed that post as well.
