Wow, people that complain about this stuff are probably part of the problem with the "Disneyfication" of Second Life. As others have stated, it's super common in all sorts of media. These same people are probably overbearing parents and religious nut-jobs.
You know which animation I could see a legitimate complaint about? I don't know its name, but it involves contorting your avatar into an orally self pleasing position while a sound clip of cookie monster eating is played.
Even though I thought it was hilarious when I first saw/heard it. lol

Men do anyway (and women like me I guess). She wears sexy clothes and looks sexy. She hasnt got to the granny stage but she's sexy. _____________________

Another data point here chiming in that I do not find 'sexy' offensive, especially when used to denote an animation named that in documentation for an animation overrider. I do find the sexy_walk animation exaggerated and slightly silly, at least for me, but it is miles ahead of the LL duckwalk. _____________________

"Sexy" is a strong but not profane adjective. I would not dream that anyone would find it offensive. It doesn't bother me personally
I mean just how sensitive are some people that a word like "Sexy" is going to offend? No matter what the word, someone is going to be bothered by it. There is *no* pleasing some people. Oh wait, I said "pleasing", is that offensive? Is there too much an innuendo? HAR HAR HAR Not broadly offensive no. I hear it 24 hours a day on television -- or at least I WOULD if I watched TV. I do find it funny that most female walks are titled "sexy", but there isn't even an equivalent "studly" (or whatever) walk for guys.... illustrating that women are considered primarily on their sexual attributes, whereas men are often not (yet who has sex on the brain more often, and in wider sometimes more bizarre contexts?) Hi everyone A little while back, I wrote an open-source animation overrider that's become somewhat popular. I recently received a complaint because it uses the word "sexy" in the documentation, and someone found it offensive. I would abuse report the person complaining for violating #1 of the "community standards" (intolerance), and for generally being too stupid to be allowed near any kind of complicated machinery (like, a box of matches). |
