Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Honey is so much better...

Drizzling it all over.
Getting all sticky.
And slowly licking it off... the spoon and fingers, toast is so yummy that way :D

Well it's true. Much better off with something non-sticky, like vanilla icecream.

No.

Would rather he remain neutral. By and large he does not do a bad job, although if he does have "views" it might be frustrating for him. He needs to set general policy rather than debate

By and large I think this forum does work insomuch as we seem able to debate some of the core issues in this virtual world without fear or favour providing we remember to be civilised towards one another, even if we agree to disagree. Having had a number of years experience in seeing how BBs work I think this forum is becoming a valuable tool, which is a pleasant surprise.

But the one remaining danger we all face is that of agreement and complacency, insomuch as if we all start agreeing with one another too much we will ossify and wither. The thing that stops that is new blood (no vampire jokes please -:). So when you are out there "in world" spread the word about this forum and get a few of your friends to contribute.

Hmmm... first of all, we were making fun here. Nothing more then that.

Then, yes... Strife is an moderator and has the duties belonging to that job. But most of all, Strife is human (or at least a Nekko or Furry!). Which means that he/she has to let go as well once in while.

I am and have been moderator on more then one forum. Holding to the rules is good... showing to be one of the crowd, is even better.

If somebody spoke out of line, could your action result in the freezing of an account with thousands of dollars worth of assets tied to it? If not, then your time as moderator on another forum hardly compares to the situation here.

Time and time again Strife has gone on thread-locking rampages when the threads concerned involved constructive discussion about SL. It's not difficult to find examples of this. But this thread contains no constructive or relevant discussion whatsoever and if one must adhere to the RA guidelines like some prissy hall monitor, then lets face it, it's bang out of line. I'm not complaining about that because I enjoy small-talk as much as the next guy. My problem is with the glaring double standard evident when threads like this are allowed to pass unlocked because it makes past action look even more unjust...and you know what? I thank Willhelm for drawing such obvious attention to it.

There is big difference between not acting when someone acts completely out of line and having a bit of fun.

Edit: I have a suggestion for you... if you don't like this kind of threads stay out of them. Also stay out of them if you fear your investments. Problem solved.

THE most Ironic thing in 'modern' day life has to be, standing in a McDonalds behind a rather portly person, dressed in their excercise outfits (heaven forbid its spandex  ), complete with neat and very clean trainners (tennis shoes), odering a Extra BIG Big Mac, asking if that can be 'larged', double order of fries and a McFlurry (again extra large) oh.... and a Diet Coke to go with LOLOLOL...

Well on the five big core issues over the last 12 months (Porn, Gambling, Ginko, Voice, and Island Tier/Cost Increases) the threads have pretty much been fair and free, although that is only my own opinion.

PS to the previous but one poster (Morwin??) Sorry love misunderstanding, no probs at all with harmless fun postings by moderators. My point was on posting opinions on the more serious issues where bias demonstrated by a non-Linden could undermine confidence in free speech.

PPS Have excluded grid software performance issues. That is not core, software always plays up, even my second TV in the dinning room goes into a sulk and will not work if not turned on now and again, and that’s not high cutting edge technology is it.

Oh…. as I thought about this post and this thread I will risk one more comment, despite having a fairly high-pressure job with lots of commitments I have always taken SL and other VR worlds very seriously and spent time here that at present is not commercially justified. VR is either going to be a complete blind alley that consumes vast amounts of computer processing power, time, and energy for all concerned (both owner and user)

OR…. at some point in time it will be even more important than the birth of the mass Internet, the only other thing that could outshine it is genuine self aware machine intelligence, of which I think is some way off yet.

So sorry to take my time here seriously no disrespects intended but a light hearted thread is perhaps not a bad choice to place this thought
