..."Unable to rez. Parcel is full."

That IS hilarious. And I agree, it wins the thread.

But Des's post shames me. Chaos, I'm sorry I made fun of your idea. I wish you luck with it.

Speaking of copyrights and RP themed sims, a bunch of friends and I thought it would be cute to put on Playboy outfits and go over to the Playboy sim. OMG they were incredibly upset, not only did we get accused of being escorts but we were told that no one could walk around the Playboy sim with bunny ears and tails on or they would be banned.

OMG, they would turn down free Bunnies? If it was Chris or Graph or Yosef in the ears and tail, I guess I could see it...

/me shakes her head

What is this world coming to? That's one of the silliest things I've ever heard. You'd think they'd be FLATTERED. Jeesh.

/me starts to organize a furry invasion of the playboy sim. We'll see if they can resist an army of teh bunnehs hopping down the street.

You know what upset me more was there were no rules posted at the entrance, no greeter sent me an IM or notecard, nothing. Just approched, accused and asked to comply. To be honest the sim was practically empty, there really was nothing exciting about it.

I have a Tiny bunny av...do you think they'd object to that? :D

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

They might pluck off your ears and tail and make you walk around like a gerbal :)

I see 13 prims at least anyone else?
I need a 3rd life sim.

I think I could get pretty close with half that.

I'm not sure what dark urban RP is. Is it like vampires and such or is it like street gangs and crack houses? What does the "urban" part mean?

At first I read the title as "dork city."

It's roleplay, it can be whatever you want it to be :D

I prefer "dark urbane". People masquerading as Bryan Ferry or Côte d'Azur plutocrats wandering around a dimly lit sim, speaking in cut glass accents about the price of truffles and the jauntiness of the angle over the shoulder that a pastel shaded cashmere sweater should be draped.

If you look around SL, the most popular "RP" seems to be that of belonging to an upper middle class closed community where everyone drives German cars and owns a yacht which is moored just off their private beach.

Which is a bit sad really, since if you just shut down SL and went out and worked a bit harder you could get somewhere close in RL..;)

Seriously though.. I think a sim nicely laid out like the set of Dawson's Creek.. or the other one that I can't remember ...and bob's your uncle you'd have a winner.

Yes, but the beauty of SL is that if you so choose, you can be aspirational without being perspirational. Something like that anyway :)

Genius Max..

I think that should be the new SL strapline.

SL - aspiration but no perspiration..

Well Chaos, wish you good luck with finding a sim for your idea's.

The sim Chaos had before might have been planned bad regarding prim use, but if Chaos can do one thing, it is building. Even though it's not my style of building, I recognize a good designer when I see one :-) So if you got your building style a bit less prim consuming, there must be land barons who want to make a deal with you.

Follow your dreams!

Marcel

I went to Gotham City over the weekend thinking I'd see Batman and Robin but instead I saw a slave auction and a whole capture/rape/bdsm community.....silly me :)

I guess that the answer is that the place DOESN'T make money. Good luck finding a patron, Chaos.

Who'd want to drive a German car? Even I, being German, drive a Ford! (and I was BORN in Rüsselsheim, the city of origin for the famed Opel cars (Vauxhall for you Brits out there)) :D

@Cunundrum: But they do have fancy sewers beneath it!

Sewers? As many times as I've been there I never knew that. I love exploring sewers. Thanks for the tip!

I have a few pics of them in my Flickr account-if you can't find an entrance, just cam underground and sit on something... :D

They also keep a lot of, erm, explicit poseball stuff down there, beware! ;)

Ooh, I will have to go check it out. Disappointed about the pose balls though. Do they have to be everywhere? I was bummed when I found even Bedrock has a place underground with pose balls.

Not the Flintstones I remember. (sigh)

You know, I take it back. The only way this city could work is through rentals. They'd be pricey, but it would have to fit theme - all the housing would be dark, grungy stuff laden with vices and all kind of smut. Shops would need to sell stuff that fit into the theme - all the dark goth clothing, weapons, cars, etc. The question is, what kind of demand is there to live in such a place?

As impressive as I thought Felonhall was I wouldn't want to live there. Too depressing on a regular basis. That's just me, though. In general I think what you described may prove itself to be very popular.
