No, I'm not talking about the box of goodies in the train depot. ;-)

I know dat myself an a couple other forum regulars and other friends have managed to get property in Bay City. 'cuz of dis, I'm wondering a couple tings.

Has anyone thought about a guide to Bay City, or otherwise puttin together a list of the cool places in Bay City? I love, for example, the area around the Terra satellite store. Maybe if there was a kiosk or tour hud or even jes an informal list?

I also wonder if there's anyting we all could do to promote walking/flying/driving/etc. in Bay City.

Finally, any thoughts of other stuff, like get togethers in Bay City or what not? I know Misses Therian has been talkin' about airship flotillas an water-borne parades an stuff.

Mari
P.S.: I might have a grand opening party of some type at my store in Bay City - Imaginario dis weekend. Construction is nearly complete!

I find some of your posts difficult to read Phil.
- even if they are written 'properly'
I just haven't mentioned it up to now.

Maybe, but I don't intentionally misspell words, making people do quick translations all the way though. I usually skip Marianne's posts because of it.

Phil must have run out of empty houses to start arguments in.

Naa. It was a perfectly good, and obvious, question to Marianne. If there was a thread about it, I missed it.

It's obvious she's roleplaying her 5 year old av and it's not all that hard to read.

I know she is, and I know that it's "not all that hard to read", but it is harder than normal.

Dakota:
How many do you own? If you want to get on topic, get on topic. I asked a simple question of Marianne, which she sort of answered. Dunno why everyone else, including you, wanted to get into it - not my concern.

I don't see a problem with Mari's posts at all. I can read it just fine, in fact it's easier to read than a lot of other posts that come in with no punctuation or sentence structure.

Anyway...the original topic...a Bay City tour HUD or even just a map would would be awesome. I don't have land there, unfortunately, but I still frequent it just to see how things are coming along. I still find myself getting lost and forgetting where certain things are, which is a pain when I bring someone there to show them something specific. So...I'd be for it. Good idea Mari.

I've been around Bay City a lot, but even I get turned around sometimes. I'm sure such a thign is possible, but I'm not sure if I'm all that good at building it.

Hmn.. I sense a project comin' on.

Mari
(Who also still wishes there was a specific Bay CIty board out there, but definitely would not have a clue to set one up)

I've only visited Bay City a couple of times and for what it's worth, it seemed a tad big and incomprehensible (and empty!) when I was there. Some resources are definitely needed. Maybe a Bay City Convention and Vistors Bureau will spring up. I see this as something a third party web site might fit into for someone willing to do a ton of work

If someone sets up a Welcome Center I will VOLUNTEER to work in it!!! IM me inworld or email me at amaliabroome@myway.com.

I've been around SL for over a year and am associated with the International Information Library System and have applied to be a mentor (waiting to hear).

I'm serious! I'd be happy to do it.

I would be willing to volunteer some building and texturing to such a project, too. Be glad to, even.

Its A Great Idea Marianne,

I just got Our Gesture and Jewelry Store open in BayCity Rollers (By the Theater)...

People started buying the same day...:)

I am not sure what we could do to help...But agree, that a Guide or maybe just a notecard with names. descriptions and LM to hand out at an Information Kiosk or something...But, if I can help I will...

Drop me a LM to your store inworld and would love to check it out...

Isn't there like a newbie "cool spots" HUD available at NCI? I expect it wouldn't take much to replace its LMs with Bay City attractions. Perhaps we could find out who made that HUD and ask them about it.

ETA: On the other hand, perhaps it would be prudent to wait until all of Bay City is bought and built. You wouldn't want to release a HUD with some sites on it, only to have the REALLY cool stuff get built afterwards and not end up on the HUD.

Cool, cool.

I'm in Bay City - Imaginario, right around 20, 220, 20

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bay%20City%20-%20Imaginario/20/220//

Right now, it's a construction site. (See: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/ViewAlbum.aspx?id=1517 ) The "real" building should be there this weekend, judging from where it is now.
