I wish there was a way to find out where he plans on taking folks on this "shock the conscious" tour. As much fun as it would be to shoot virtual penii at this guy, I'd love to derail his presentation and show his audience many of the great things about SL. Anyone here live close to Cherry Hill, NJ? Be on your best behaviour tonight folks

more than likely it's a single viewpoint guided tour, pre-compiled to show only what the presenter chooses to show.

It would be interesting to produce a counter-presentation: "Dangers of Cherry Hill, New Jersey", showing the seamy side of the town, including people using the Library Services as a platform for sowing fear and distrust in the residents.

Stuff that will "shock the conscious"? Sounds as though he's expecting part of his audience, at least, to be unconscious during the presentation. (And hence, presumably, unshocked?)
Actually, I'd like to hear what this person has to say. Odds are good that it will be the usual "ZOMG!! They have SEX here!" thing, with a focus upon the threat to RL marriages posed by online infidelities, etc. . . . but who knows? Maybe it will have something intelligent to say?
SL, the internet, books . . . these things ARE "dangerous," sometimes. That needn't, indeed shouldn't, imply an argument for censorship: it should necessitate the cultivation of an educated and discerning base of readers and users.

there was a series about the evil sicko gays that were defective humans. (actually the gay aspect was the wrong way to go since it was actually a warning against pedos)

Now if I lived where you do and wasn't busy RL, I wouldn't be able to resist going, and I would offer prayers to all Gods that he was planning a live demo (unlikely, but possible). And if not, I would write down the URLs for a few youtube videos that show the better side of SL. For example, the Starry Nights one ... and the SL version of the morphing faces one ... and there's ones from several academic institiutions ... prolly some from various Caledonians ...
