If you happen to be eating it at this moment, there is a 99% chance you are in a cheap dive in London.*
.

Lol! I am NOT in a cheap dive or in London! I was following Madhur Jaffrey's recipes and I am pretty sure she doesnt know what a cheap dive looks like. Good on yer, Des!

My kitchen is most definitely not a cheap dive in London: it would have better beer. And Madras curry is not originally an English dish...I have an old Dutch family recipe to prove it.

And Vindaloo is a Goan dish (with Portuguese influences).

The biggest problem with "multitasking" seems to be that people can't decide when it's appropriate to do it and when it isn't.
That's the second biggest problem.

The biggest problem is that people who think they can be effective when they're multitasking are actually less effective when multitasking than those of us who know we suck at it. Yes, really.

Admit it though, you've had it like that... we all have... and it's good too when you are really hungry...

Not me, I hate curry. And Chicken Tikka. I once heard someone say, "Chicken tikka tastes like cat butt smells." That was really all I needed to know. :p

Now kebabs and garlic cheese chips, that is another story. They are good, but very, very bad for you.

Mmmmmmmmmmm . . . Vindaloo, with raita. And a nice lassi to help with the heat . . .

Madras certainly isn't English. But Tikka Masala probably is.

Interesting Series of Questions
09-30-2009 09:59
First, Jig, please get well soon.

SL is not part of my multi-tasking moments (unless I'm working on a texture, researching, downloading etc. simultaneously). However, I multi-task like the devil when appropriate. I do believe that inappropriate multi-tasking leads to not doing anything well. My computer is quite powerful and still can't keep up with me and my multi-tasking needs -- I look forward to the day when it's faster than I am. /me laughs

I haven't had H1N1 yet but anticipate I will before the year is out. My work takes me to medical facilities, so I'm at high risk of contraction and follow the same flu shot regimen as health care workers for that reason. I will receive the H1N1 flu shot in November and the regular flu shot I think in January -- such is the Canadian schedule as of this week.

When I am unwell I eat a lot of chicken soup, avoid dairy, drink lots of juice and OD on vitamins and herbs. I also bundle up very warm (sweat it out, so to speak), and watch movies until I fall asleep.

... I can pick the tea leaves, cure them, pack them, open the packet, make teh tea AND print the paper all at the same time. :) That is just an analogy.

I want to see pics of this analogy. I believe it violates several physical laws.

Do NOT include pics of your sexy garb from last night. I don't think my heart could stand the strain.

Anyone who compares chicken tikka to cat butt... well...

1. I don't want to know how they know that.
2. ... there is no point 2, my brain shuts down.

Well, you MUST have a pretty good idea of what ferret butt smells like?

I expect it is somewhat similar. Except that cats are more fastidious.

You really don't want a digression about musk glands, so I'll just say I'd be worried if Laurin's friend is going about sniffing ferret butts.

I haven't Googled it, but I would think "Rule 34" would apply.

If not, "Rule 35" will be invoked.

And of course "Rule 36" trumps all.

I hope you're starting to feel better by now Jig. My favourite remedy is Thai chilli soup, bed rest, a good novel and a sympathetic cat to cuddle (don't spill soup on cat!).

Last winter I had a flu-type bug that lasted for seven weeks and culminated in a cracked rib from coughing (which I can still feel if I get very out of breath). My mum is convinced it was whooping cough. So far so good, this year, and the kids have been back at school for a month now. This is usually the time of year when they all swap germs at school, them take them home as gifts for their parents.

I don't know what cat or ferret bums smell like, but some of the best meals I have had were in grotty London dives.

Eeeeew, that means you eat to the odor of Englishmen. Oh well, could be worse, you could have been in France.
