Hi folks,

Well I advertised for 10 dance partners, and 3 showed up. Fortunately, not all the 16 girls were able to make, but 14 did.

But the good news is, the Masquerade Ball was an amazing success, despite the 3 guys being somewhat footsore afterwards.

The ballgowns and the masks were just superb, some of which were made by the girls themselves.

Many thanks to Eben Slade who stepped up to the plate. He was a great success, an excellent conversationalist, and every inch the gentleman.

A magical evening.

That is pretty common Rock. We never have enough men around the Hangout to provide all the ladies with dance partners.

If I had been available, I would have loved to have a dance meet some new folks.

/me makes a mental not to stop by the hangout more often. :)

That was certainly the case prior to Voice, but now all applicants to join our community have to provide voice verification. The number of applicants has declined since we brought that out, but I am glad we did. I like to know the gender of whom I am dancing with and sharing other personal moments with.

Good lord, no wonder you don't have enough people for your events!
With so many things to do in SL, I doubt I'd dash out to buy a microphone (as I have no need for one now) to satisfy your membership requirements.

And didn't you earlier plead for females who have male alts to come and join your party to even things out? Does that mean that your voice verification only applies when you're not desperate for male avatars?

Good luck to you :)

He referred to these 16 as "pets", so I presume that there's a power exchange/sexual relationship there, and he wants to make sure it's really with RL women. That seems quite separate to having guests to dance with them being cross-gender.

You're asking the wrong men...you might want to try over at SLU. :)

Oh, those are very good questions, raising issues of false or misleading advertising with regard to event requirements. Wait...what am I saying? I didn't mean to imply that the original thread...no, wait, two threads...were advertising. So this third thread about the same event publicizing the same "service" in Resident Answers must also not be advertising.

Ooo, ooo, I have a question, Rock! If you're mostly concerned with the voice and thus player gender of your attendees, does that mean the avatar is irrelevant? Would you mind if the ladies you were dancing with put on their male avatars? And possibly used voice changers to lower and roughen their voices to sound male? After all, it'd still be a real live woman player.

If Eben Slade was every inch the gentleman, how many inches was that, exactly? And how magical did his inches make your personal moments?

Oh yick. Like eating an apple and realizing you just bit through a worm. I'll bow out of this thread before I start ranting about clowns like these and their pets/slaves/idiots.

Voice verification? People here being asked to voice? HA!!!! Of course the numbers declined. You'll get better numbers if you ask for donations of $1000 US then those who'll show up to voice.

A secret: Shhh..they fear it like the plague.

Many of us remember the Voice scare back last spring when people were sure that voice would be forced on them for gender verification.
I along with so many others went to great lengths arguing that only the most paranoid and homophobic would ever consider doing such a thing.
Thanks for proving me right!

Boy, I'd be screwed. I'm frequently mistaken for a man on the telephone.

I don't really see what the big deal is. If he wants to try to verify gender with voice, all the power to him. It's his SL too, and if he wants it a certain way... why be bugged about it? I'm sure many RL women were turned off by it, but that's his loss...

I think a better question is just how much attention can one of 16 pets be getting overall? ;)

I don't know but it seems to me that being the "perfect gentlemen" is quite boring. Besides, some females don't like too much of that either.

I'll explain: Women that want a perfect gentlemen all night long, you most likely won't get anywhere with. A female that doesn't mind a bit less of it will most likely be less of a prude and you're likely to have more fun with, you both will as you don't need to keep up an impression and you can both relax more.

Why does anyone have to be "this" or be "that"? Just be yourself...........someone is bound to like you at some point!
