Yeah . . . in the final analysis, I really good radar may be the best defence against stalking.

No one knows of anything that blocks radar, do they?

Using a phantom avatar would essentially leave your stalker perving on an empty shell. I think anyway. Has anyone tried this on their alt?
Now the only problem is you can't stray too far from your original position.

Bonus~~~Now you can tell your stalker what a crappola outfit shes wearing and hiding there is just silly.

Aww Phil, I like your bots. They're cute. And they're better conversationalists than many people I meet. :-) I still won't turn my back on them though. I can imagine them all starting to shuffle forward mumbling 'bottybottybottybotty' like something from Dr Who. That creeps me out a bit.
lol. I'll pass what you said on to them, Kelly. I'm sure they'll be very flattered. I'll also tell them to stop with the botty fixation or they'll be getting a reputation they wouldn't want ... or would they? ... hmmm :)

This is all hilarious, but I think it also points up something.

We are all, collectively, still in the process of determining what the cultural mores should be for virtual existence. Is it OK to stare at someone? To read their Profile? Is it OK to send an unsolicited Friends request? An IM? Is it OK to enter an (unoccupied) private residence? To use their poseballs? I mean, it's not as if you could break them, or steal them.

SL is a lot like RL...but it also has many differences, imposed by the technology we're using. That can trip us up or cause controversy over many things.

We have to realize that not everyone shares our values and prejudices. And we should also, when we react instinctively to something, pause a moment and think. "Yes, this would be rude or unacceptable in Real Life. But do the same rules apply here?"

Emerald doesn't kill people , people kill people! Don't point that thing at someone unless you intend to use it ! Please look responsibly!

Oh yes ! And it's interesting to watch these rules of virtual etiquette develop, through what happens inworld, blog-land, and also here in the forums. All seems relatively peaceful, and then emerald comes and adds a little bit more technology, and the edges start getting chafed on people, and the discussion warms up again in a new direction on what are acceptable behaviours and responses. I think it's great stuff. It's all about how we tick.

I just tried the show look at on emerald for the first time, and while it was fun for a bit it did get annoying after a while, especially when there was a lot of avatars around with all the cross hairs flying wily nily. I was wondering though if anyone knew what the different colours of crosshairs mean? I think it turns pink when you are focused on something but I wasn't sure about the other colours. It's not really important, just a random wondering. :)

1. Yes. 2. Yes. What else is it for? 3. No. 4. Sometimes. 5. Never. 6. Never. 7. They can, actually. Are there virtual disinfectants?

Yeah umm.. I made the mistake of camming in on a certain much-too-realistic part on a wolf furry at a sex club once. Hadn't even finished my "Ewwwww" before I got the "see sumthing u like?" remark
Caught me off guard and all I could come up with was "trying to figure out why I would like it" or something like that lol.
