I'd say follow Chris Norse's example....

i.e type what you want as rudely as you want...

after all he gets away with it .....

I say what I think. If it bothers you, put me on ignore. I am not your momma or your daddy, I don't have to sugarcoat anything.

While responding to another thread....was contemplating the "Tones" that are set when someone starts a thread or the Tone set when someone enters into a thread with a comment.

Although the posts that follow may not exactly follow the Guidelines....the person who set the Tone has some responsibility as well as the people responding.

Setting the tone in a particular direction is as awkward as someone responding rudely.

It wouldn't hurt to go back and review the Guidelines. However.....

I think it's been a while since some of the posters here read this.

Here's a second question- How many of the responses to this post will adhere to those guidelines?

Rime

You sort of set the tone there, Rime....with those two phrases.

Unfortunately, Chris and I share a trait: I say what I am thinking at the time.

If this is a problem for anyone - use the ignore function

I do ..... at the least until I have calmed down.

Further ....

How I present myself on a forum is vastly different than how I am in any sort of pseudo-real time environment (IE: within SL). I am silent until I have something to say and have a few hot button topics ... There are also certain personality types that just annoy me to no end and if you are of that type .... you'll know it quickly.

The thing is ignore is so like the electronic equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears poking out your tongue and going 'ner ner ner ner ner'.....

I make the exception only in the rarest of cases ...much as I do with ban lines in world :D
