I'd like to request that this thread be made a sticky if it is popular enough. Since so many people browse Resident Answers, this is a great place to post links to important or desired JIRA issues. Lots of folks don't have the patience to slog through JIRA, so I propose that we all post our pet issues here, for ease of navigation. I'll start it off with 3 of my faves from today: Create Landmarks from Profile Picks: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7481Maintain Palletized Textures Select/Unselect After Logoff: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12031Force Automatic Rebake after Selection/Unselection of Palletized Textures: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12032

I think the Palletized Texture option is removed from the Release Candidates, so the upcoming new viewer won't have that to remember. Palletized textures just won't be an option, so I understand.
I don't think they'll be upgrading the current viewer once the RC goes gold.

VWR-3947 - Ugly font rendering in menu bar after upgrading to ATI drivers 7.12
02-12-2009 21:30
Ugly font rendering in menu bar after upgrading to ATI drivers 7.12 http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3947From: someone After upgrading to the latest ATI drivers (7.12) I noticed that some letters in the menu bar are rendered ugly. See the attached screenshots, and look at the capital letters E, V, W and H. It is just a minor thing, but it happens in all screen/window resolutions. Other text (the menu items itself or other text in the viewer) seems to be fine.
I also noticed the same thing with the Linux viewer, both with the Linux 7.11 and 7.12 driver. I just installed the RC 1.22.9 and decided, for some reason, to install the latest Catalyst driver. I should have known not to waste my time. I guess I'll have to go back to Catalyst 6 to get a proper font display.

Something that has cost a lot of people a lot of money replacing their dances, poses, chims, AOs and only a partial fix is in the works: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6110

JIRA is my pet JIRA issue. I find it mind numbing. I went once and vowed to never return. How about ssomething regular people can use to report thsings, then it can go onto whatever geekification is necessary.

The one they got rid of a couple of years ago? Open a JIRA on it, and I'll vote

This is great.
I added several votes because of this. One thing you might also want to consider is adding those issues you care about to your inworld profile. I have. I need to update it but I still think it is a good idea.

Adding an issue is easy - if you can figure out how to post here, you can figure out how to add an issue. The problem with JIRA is that it's a real pain to search - I spend far more time trying to figure out if I should report an issue than reporting it. http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-224 asks for a new JIRA section here in these forums. Somewhere where people could ask "is this a new bug" or a sticky with links to some of the more common problems would be helpful, I think.

Does anyone know if there's one for "view upload settings of animations in inventory"?
If it were possible to see all the settings you used when uploading an animation (loop/no loop, ease etc) in the animation properties, that would make me a very happy bunny.

I suppose we could file a jira issue requesting this thead be stickied.
The month out of date sticky still being there gives one an idea of how much attention is paid to the forums. If someone does take action on it,it will probably me to change it to a discussion of next year's Winterfair as well as the one currently in session, if any, and comments on the one past, so it will never need further attention.

From: Amaranthim Talon I requested ur link and got this: ERROR
The project you are trying to view does not exist. Try browsing for projects.
If you think this message is wrong, please consult your administrators about getting the necessary permissions. I take it you mean the one that was in my signature. There was a comma stuck on the end by mistake, which is now fixed. The one in the body of my post was valid and working on multiple machines here. If that didn't work, perhaps you selected it wrong? When that sort of thing happens, there are ways to get around it, such as: You can also go to jira.secondlife.com and put the issue number, 3947 into the "QUICK SEARCH" field at the top right and go to the issue. Using that Quick Search field at the top right for "Ugly font rendering" produces that issue as the top item in the result list. Putting second life jira ugly font rendering into Google produces the link as the third result in the list. And of course looking for things like commas, periods, etc. added to the end. I try to remember to add a space before the period at the end of a sentence when the sentence ends with an url or other web link, a convention which I think should be adopted as a rule of proper punctuation, since it makes it easier to copy and paste urls and reduces the occurrence of problems like this.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I take it you mean the one that was in my signature. <snip> Yes that was it- I had clicked your signature- but went back this morning before reading your explanation and got it- I didn't help though since apparently had voted on it a while ago.
