After a bit of debate, We choose Robin Williams. We think his credibility, acting range and audience, all fit SL's advertising needs. Also, can you imagine how funny his commercials would be?!

Sooo.. Who do You think should represent SL? Perhaps we need lots of spokespeople from all the cultures involved. Whatcha think?

If you're gonna pick SF authors, Vinge was the first to actually describe something like SL in "True Names". There were no real avatars in Gibson's cyberspace, it was some kind of magic projection of an internet where somehow computers automatically generated 3d websites just by the fact that they existed at all, and programs... not users... manifested as dramatically appropriate icons.

I mean really, if you were designing a stealth attack program with a 3d interface, would you make it *look like* a stealth fighter?
