But do robots feel pain when you shoot them? I think that is the most important question to ask here.

lol, doubtful, but if the club owner is enough of an ass to purposely use the OP's deck for a landing spot, s/he would probably take great delight in causing further problems via AR.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Honeybee, may I re-route all of them to your house?

ABSOLUTELY! I'm on my own sim and I'd invite everyone over for a little target practice as they dropped out of the bottom of the floor!

You've got a few willing participants here, invite everyone over ;)

In all seriousness....the situation does suck. Other than the ARs, I don't know what to suggest....except have your friends come over at the time they normally appear and have them AR as well. Strength in numbers and all that.

what is the best way to prevent these robots from landing on my deck? Thanks.

Move the landing point for your house. Underground. Or as high as possible.

Or wall in the deck for a few days.

Kayella, you can get a security device easily, but the bots will still be on your deck for a few seconds until they are ejected.

Can you move your skybox higher, at least for a bit? You would only need to move it 3m or so and the bots would miss it. If the robots continue to rez on your deck after you move, then you are being deliberately targeted by this club owner for some reason, and should AR them. But that seems unlilkely. More likely the bots would continue to rez there and just fall to the ground.

However, if you are renting a skybox, you won't be able to move it. In that case, contact your landlord, explain the problem, and see if they can offer you another skybox, and a little grace period to move in. Also, they will have more clout dealing with the club owner than you will.

Good luck!

Put a prim in the spot where they appear (assuming it's not your LP):

default {
state_entry() { llVolumeDetect(TRUE); }
collision_start() { llTeleportAgentHome(llDetectedKey(0)); }
}

I disagree. I've been on parcels - shopping, usually - that I had no idea were damaged-enabled until some time after I arrived. And, unless you're getting a notecard or some such notification that says by staying, you agree to be targeted, I don't think mere presence implies consent to participate.

If you do not mind using the Mystitool it tells you immediately when you enter a damage enabled parcel and i find that little function extremely helpful and quite literally a lifesaver.

Stepping on damage enabled land is consent enough to be targeted and assaulted - or at least that is the way it used to be.

I avoid damage enabled land simply for the reason that you can step on a landmine or trip any sort of trickery that kills you and the owners do not have to put warnings on their property about it. Not really fun stuff in my book.

If you are on damage enabled land and get shot etc. you will not be able to file an AR as its allowed there.

I'd probably just put up a wall between the skybox and this club the bots move to. They'd all be blocked from getting there and aren't smart enough to go around. The club owner would be forced to move his TP-in spot if they all get hung up on your land.

:confused: Is it even possible to set up a landing point on somebody else's land?

My best guess would be that an out-of-date or just plain wrong landmark (or SLURL?) is getting passed around and that these are, indeed, shills rather than bots. It's just difficult to imagine that a bot runner wouldn't immediately fix the bot arrival point rather than having to navigate the darn things to where they actually belong. I can see no possible advantage accruing to the club owner by increasing *your* traffic.

The situation--as long as it lasts--does offer a lot of potential for mischief. (I'm torn between tip-jar and wood-chipper.)

Ooooh, set up some kind of pipesystem to guide them across a couple of other places on the sim, before getting them stuck at a dead end. I'm sure shopkeepers will be interested in funding some free fun-traffic :D

They're paid to be there.

ETA:

A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims. Shills are often employed by confidence artists. In the UK the term plant is also used.

So they are paid to be there and make the place look busy. Bots, with more personality (hopefully).

Thank you HoneyBear!

I sort of suspected that definition. That being the case, it matters not if they are bots or shills, load the guns with TP Home scripted bullets and let the fun begin ;)

are you positive that the mega prim is not over hanging the land next door??? and they are TPing to the correct spot only to fall on your porch witch is a mega prim? that would be my first guess as it is hard to get those mega prims right up in the sky, unless you start it at the ground and slowly painfully drag them up.

They go up fine. Just change the Z coordinate to the required height and up it goes.

Is your parcel in the exact center of the sim (128, 128) and do you have a landing spot set for your deck?

Personally I think Argent won the thread.

Well, the idea here is that you're going to JUST gohome the robots... not the robots and random innocents.

Or, hey! Why doesn't the club owner just tp them into the actual club? :rolleyes:

You know, I leave my land open for visitors with nice places to sit/cuddle and a 7Seas fishing game all set up, but if they started arriving at my skybox, I'd be pretty damn irritated. Well, I would if I didn't have the security orb to send them away...

I agree Ann, I have an island, I don't have security or lock the doors, I don't mind people looking around when I'm not around or even if I am around. People land on my island as they are looking around the region, doesn't bother me at all.

I would however object to large groups arriving 3 times a day, how annoying.........I would not be feeling at all hospitable! I also assume they only land their breifly maybe in transit, doesn't allow time to be hospitable.
