Vote on Your Adult/Mature/PG Rating

Linden Labs is making changes to second life to restrict "Adult Content":

There will be three levels of sims instead of the two that exist now: PG, Mature, and Adult. The definations of what these levels will be is here:

There has been a tremendous outcry about the PG definitions and how it appears in the KB article that they will be affected in all of this as well. This was never the case and I apologize for the team that it came across this way.

I just want to say that there will be NO changes to the old definition of PG. We'll revisit this document internally and make the corrections.

Adult for me

As God is my Witness, I have no idea what to answer.

Honestly If "I still can't tell" was an available option that would be my pick, even after all of the refining, these guidelines are clear as mud regarding the dividing line between mature and adult. Its pretty easy to differentiate between adult and PG, but that is not where all of the post-implementation confusion and ARs will be coming from.

Interesting. On my home-is-down-what-to-do trip the other day, I decided to follow the green dot masses and see where folks were. I found that "sex-themed article" sims contained most of the green dots and that the green dots were camping there, not having wild encounters of the Adult type. A quick view of their profiles indicated they were [for the most part] No Payment Info On File. If the store owners attached to these places move or designate Adult, where will the campers go? I add that traffic in these sims was a 6 figure number. The Islands visited were Private Regions.

As far as I can tell my land would be rated M, so that is what I voted.

Adult, mainly because there are certain pose balls and the like that are openly available. Also, I'm not a big fan of clothing unless necessary. Otherwise, mature. Jackie

That is a hard one. Our land is currently rated pg because our line of business is pg and our home also occupies the sim. If our home was located somewhere else then definitely mature.

I guess i could pass for PG but I voted for Mature.

I voted PG because I mainly hang out at my house to sort Inventory. "Other" stuff is done elsewhere.

Adult, I sway in long stints between PG building and learning and then to Adult for a while, then back, ideally I'd like both...

I guess it was an easy option. Since I re-did my entire island for a specific cause and created a gallery.....I'll consider it 'mature' since......two of my mom's paintings are nudes. But really...as paintings go, they are pastel sketches and hardly offensive or even 'adult content' in LL's terms.

I think, however, the idea of three different ratings is a bit more realistic then trying to cut it right down the middle with PG vs Adult. There's too many gray areas and it wouldn't be fair to treat this like a black & white issue. I can't even imagine how LL is going to roll this out.....but....ya know....pass the popcorn.....should be interesting....

My land is currently rated PG ... and to me, it's pretty darn PG. Outdoor museum of 19th century inventions, industrial looking house, a "big cats" zoo and lots of landscaping.

I remember though, the thing with Daniel Linden, or whomever it was, when all the sudden my B-n-B couple dance v4 and even some of my furniture (there was one that had two hugs and another that had a famous Boris Vallejo freebie couple pose) all the sudden no longer worked. I think I read something about those being considered mature content at the time.

I have a steam engine with two pistons that go back and forth. There is a American Civil War cannon that fires. Sometimes I get sexy thoughts, although usually not online.

I might just be Adult.

I need all of you who take part in any adult activity to please send me pictures so I can judge for my self. Thank you for your support. No weasels please.

That's not the purpose of the poll. Linden Labs claims 2-4% of the landowners will need to move to Ursula. This poll is an attempt to gage the number of people who will really need to move, based on the just released definitions of adult/mature/pg. as you can see from the early results, its a hell of a lot more than 2-4%.

Before anyone tells me its not a scientific sample, I know that. But the more people that vote, the more realistic a sample of the SL population it is. So I encourage you to tell all your friends to check out the maturity ratings and vote.
