Whoever programs shoes and feet, I would like to stick my RL foot in their RL butt.

What I don't understand at all is why the shoe makers of SL decided on size 0 as the universal size, when this causes the lumpen ankle effect. If you increase the size of the avatar feet to 20 on the slider - which isn't huge by any means - then you lose that lump and get beautifully smooth feet and ankles.

It seems just daft that nearly every shoe maker and clothes maker is making leg warmers to cover up the defect, when making the shoe size itself 20 as standard wouldovercome the problem.

I'd like to see more shoe makers offering a size 20 shoe for those of us who can live with slightly bigger feet if it means we get smooth ankles. I can see that offering a lot of sizes isn't necessarily possible, but offering two? Should be doable, surely?

I never knew this... I must try this and see what happens, and then consider future shoes to be size 0 and size 20 with a notecard explaining about the ankles thing....

Caliandris Pendragon, that is a good idea. I have been focusing mostly on textured (like clothing) shoes for some time now because of my dislike of the too tiny feet thing so people can have what ever size or shape they want as I make them modifiable.
But if I ever make more prim shoes, I'll definitely make some size 20's too.

I make a lot of long dresses with system skirts. The trick is to bring the skirt width down to 0, no bustle, no poof etc... and close it all up. You get a choice of one silhouette, a sheath, but it's a nice modern silhouette, and yes, my avi has a "skirt butt" (also called a shelf or a portable sofa). She also has a paunch, but so do lots of real life ladies. What I like ahout the system skirt gowns I make is that they look like a real long dress (the kind I'd pick out for a "formal wear optional" party or a semi-formal) I'd buy in a store for myself, rather than a 19th century crinoline or princess gown or wedding dress.

I love this kind of dress...

As for shoes, system shoes are fun to make and very practical. What is wrong with a pair of lovely ballet flats or loafers or oxfords. Avatarot dance all the time and such shoes are perfect for the dance floor, formal but practical and definitely attractive.

...and this type of shoes, but have been hard to find. Do you have a shop, Iyoba?

I am starting to get a collection of clothes. Making stuff is addictive. I have a lot of long dresses and system shoes and now I have a sweater that is itching to be sold or given away.

I'm going to start a thread about this. I may have some retailing set up before the end of the year. I'm going to start a thread about this. I've got issues with making money in SL.

System skirt dresses also make very slinky, sexy cheongsam/qipao style dresses. I have several and I love them; I wear them far more than I wear any prim skirt. Actually I don't think I have a single prim skirt that I really wear; they just don't fit my round, curvy avatar at all. I wear slacks, I wear a sari, or I wear one of my cheongsams.

Love Steve Martin!!

(Bit of "Czari History" - when I was in college, Steve Martin did a free (for the students) concert there. I went to a small, private college...and this was before anyone had heard of him yet. None of us had for sure.

Also, I went to a Cream concert when I was in Jr. High school and the opening act was another person no one had heard of - Jimmy Hendrix.)
