At least it's easy to tell if you're on Heterocera Atoll. It's the funny loop-shaped one with hueg mountains.

OK, here is the "new continent." Actually, I have two pictures, but I'll get to them. This contninent lies at the eastern extreme of the map and may be north of Corsica as well. Marate is here so this is the "right place."
http://tacheiru.us/flyingfrogs/paulson.png I did give it a name. In honor of the stock market crash, and the fact that it is not zoned but a typical "no amenities" like Gaeta, so home to rampant capitalism, I called it Paulson after the American Secretary of the Treasury. You can call it whatever you like though I think Paulson is a good name. Then we have this... http://tacheiru.us/flyingfrogs/serena.png This lies at the absolute eastern extremity of Second Life. I'm not sure if it qualifies as a continent. It is everything I detest. It is entirely unwalkable. It is all private islands but unconnected. It all ready has a name. I'd call it several words you don't want me using on this board. My feelings is that walkability builds community as do public spaces such as sandboxes and info-hubs when done right. You have no privacy in SL. Your usage leaves a trail on your hard drive and on Linden's server. On the other hand, SL runs with the population density of Wyoming. The chance of any one stumbling on you on a given night is pretty low (not that it doesn't happen), but I've had land since June and have yet to find someone on it. |

I was in the old "Avatar Central" in Aqua yesterday, and I spotted another legacy map... I'm looking forward to checking that out. Many of you may know this already, but: the Shelter in Isabel has a display, on the second floor, of several SL maps. |
