Oh yes...socialism works SO well in those countries. That's why the population and productivity in those countries are declining, I guess.
Declining? Where do you get your information from?

Those that aren't declining are only doing so because of the influx of Middle Eastern immigrants.

Oh...did you hear that Shariyah (sp?) religious courts now have the authority to decide cases in the UK?

To get back on track...*Did I just say that?*...and the question of who made the openspace decision, this thread across the street postulates that one of our own had great influence.........

So first the populations are declining, and then they aren't declining. Alright. What about the productivity decline that you mentioned? Also, where do you get your information from (I already asked that). Don't misunderstand - most of us in the UK would like a decline in population, but I'm curious where your information comes from.

Actually, Qie's suggestions (the first comment on the blog http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/10/29/update-regarding-the-openspaces-announcement/ ) are entirely reasonable, and indeed mirrored closely in M's statement. I was positively surprised when reading that statement.
It wasn't until I looked at the actual limits in the knowledge base it was all shot to pieces, and Qie notably *does not* mention anything about those. If you read Qie's suggestions with something close to 1/4 or 1/5 performance enforced on current openspaces in mind, and the extra money for the higher class going to alleviate, say, avatar limits, it would have been *very* reasonable.

I know, I am one of those "ebil terrists" now. I actually support freedom and own the means to protect my own.

Newsflash - you no longer have a lot of freedoms once the Patriot Act was approved, which was my point.

In all honesty, I'm no fan of the Patriot Act, but my life hasn't changed because of it in any real way. I do the same things and go to the same places I always have. I thinks it's more about the Government now can say they have legal permisssion to do a lot of stuff they probably were doing anyway. The possibility of abuse is there I guess, and awful cases of it have occurred, but I can't worry myself with what might happen.

Chris, you hide behind the tree with your rifle. When the Red Coats come down the trail, I'll distract them. You start on the officers and work your way down. I'll blow the Claymores.

I'll paint my Huey black. They will think I'm one of them.

Of course, everyone knows to shoot the officers, radiomen and NCOs first. Shoot and scoot. Mao was right, the freedom fighter has to swim in the population like a fish in the sea.
