I used to have a castle, until I found it was an open invitation for rampart sex. Was the rampart asking for it? _____________________

Was the rampart asking for it? It did look a touch lonely, now that you mention it. |

I suggest a high horse. /me makes note to inquire as to what a High Horse is, since am familiar (sort of) with the lower variety. _____________________

I suggest a bronze bull and an iron maiden. Iron Maiden sounds like more pain than pleasure- not sure what the bull entails (/me thinks there is a hell of a lot I have never heard of!) _____________________

Searched for this but can't find the answer. I was with my SL gf recently above an island she owns, 3000m up in her skybox. She has flying restrictions turned on, but we were a bit surprised to have someone who claimed to be a 'friend of a neighbour' fly over and basically butt in when we were having a conversation. Given that we have a penchant for wild, crazy sex (and a desire for a certain amount of privacy to complement this), can anyone suggest the best way to ensure we have maximum privacy? What's the best way to ensure that not only can we not be seen or heard, but also that no one can come within open chat/ shouting distance? Maybe some kind of invisibility to radar or mini-map etc? We're a bit newb at this so any advice is hugely appreciated, thanks. Owning your own private sim is the most secure, but not everyone can afford that. If it is a private sim but it is owned by someone else, the tenant can ask the land owner to ban the problem visitor from the sim. Short of that, you can get a security system that will send anyone home who comes too close. There are a lot of different ones out available to choose from. I use one made by Psyke Phaeton, Psyke's Defense Systems (SP?) that I have been very happy with. There is also a very basic inexpensive one available for only L$10 called Black Box Security. It works fine but will not work on group owned land. There is a landmark to the shop where you can get this in the box of "Free useful stuff" at my store in Shona. Privacy is limited in SL. Even a security system cannot prevent someone from hovering in the distance, just out of reach and moving their camera into range. If you decide to get a security system you should be aware of the Linden's position on security systems. This post is the closest they have come to making an official statement: /108/db/104716/2.html#post1023879 _____________________

Who knew we'd stumble onto that? That was like a lucky sincident. So- product suggestion or is this uhm - lifestyle dependent? _____________________

So- product suggestion or is this uhm - lifestyle dependent? Lifestyle? Anyway, about 98% of ALL those huds on SL work perfectly well for all couples. The difference in angle is minimal, and in most cases, nonexistent. *gets a slide ruler out* Oh the things I do to educate! _____________________

But we also need your "customer review" of the product. Don't forget, the review should be illustrated, with pics of your work trying out the product with whoever you were trying it with! |

When we were very young in SL ...
Well, first of all we thought when we were fighting in chat, people not in the room couldn't hear. After we had properly traumatized a friend with a loft a few floors below us (in the middle of us arguing, poor Daisy's couch started talking to her. "Daisy? did you want to sit?" ![]() So we thought, we will get land! And then we will have privacy! (and stop with the traumatizing). So we got some great land, and, because we wanted privacy (did I mention the part where we had friends mapping still on, and one of our friends decided to visit, and let us say she poofed abruptly because we were in a dungeon, never mind ANYWAY). But still! All these are newbie errors! So we have the land. We have one of Isablan's gorgeous skyboxes (open to the sky). We have our hammock from Neva Naughty (there was a pause there while I checked; it is still sitting on our front deck). So finally, finally! This guy that is my guy, and still is, we were having this perfect moment together: and I look up and realize there is an angel sitting on the end of the hammock. Wings and all. Just sitting there. "Get OUT!" I shrieked. "But I'm an angel," he said. "Well, I'm not! Get out!!!!!!" Shortly thereafter I inquired here and discovered security orbs. The End. |

Pffftttt... no need for security devices.... Just have your mini map up and be very trained at freeze, eject and ban....
Of course you have make sure to eject and ban the right person.... I went there once wrong, that was a bit painful..... to say the least ![]() Morwen. |

can anyone suggest the best way to ensure we have maximum privacy? Yup, make sure you get your own SL. http://opensimulator.org Privacy guaranteed, because you will be the only ones logged in. BTW, being a German speaker, the combination of the thread title and your last name cracks me up. _____________________

Continuing my theme...

......of slightly hysterical paranoia:
Whilst on the aforementioned island a few days ago, I noticed someone on the mini-map. I walked over to where they were, but nothing and the map said they were down, BELOW the island! (I'm 100% sure the arrow was pointing down, not up.) I was standing directly above them! Is this a bug? Or is my paranoia justified and it was some clandestine intrusion involving burrowing underground? |

If I'm not mistaken, avatars very high up (maybe over 4000?) sometimes show on the minimap as down arrows instead of up arrows. I have no idea why.
ETA: I've seen this on at least one occasion, where I spent quite a while trying to look for avatars under the ground until I remembered reading a thread about the arrows, but I was in a no-fly area and didn't feel like breaking the rules so I have no idea how high the bot- erm, avatars in question actually were. _____________________

Checked and confirmed..... I really should compliment my neighbor with the nice spot he created there, although I am not sure he will be happy about it that I know about it
.Anyway, it was fun to hit on 3900 meters the "Stop flying" button .Morwen. |
