Searched for this but can't find the answer.
I was with my SL gf recently above an island she owns, 3000m up in her skybox. She has flying restrictions turned on, but we were a bit surprised to have someone who claimed to be a 'friend of a neighbour' fly over and basically butt in when we were having a conversation.
Given that we have a penchant for wild, crazy sex (and a desire for a certain amount of privacy to complement this), can anyone suggest the best way to ensure we have maximum privacy? What's the best way to ensure that not only can we not be seen or heard, but also that no one can come within open chat/ shouting distance? Maybe some kind of invisibility to radar or mini-map etc?
We're a bit newb at this so any advice is hugely appreciated, thanks.

If she owns the island, she should be able to create parcels within it and then she can set up a security orb for the parcel that has the skybox.

If by island you mean an entire estate sim then you can do what Imnot suggested. Flying restrictions can be overcome with a simple keystroke command. If she doesn't own an estate sim you can get a security orb and set it to cover the entire parcel and to detect and eject trespassers. You can also get a large megaprim sphere textured to reflect the environment and rez it around the skybox to make it difficult to detect visually. While these things wont necessarily stop someone from invading your privacy, they will at least make it so that any invasion of your privacy is at a distance and less likely to upset you.

Before worrying about stronger restrictions, put up a big old hollow and NON-phantom megaprim cube textured with the "ban lines" texture around the skybox. If people can't take THAT hint, ban them from the estate. And vote for SVC-2390.

How did someone bop over if flying is restricted? Did they ride a broom? Maybe flying restrictions don't stop vehicles.

Yeah, what Damien said. No-fly zones only prevent those on the ground from flying. Those who are already flying, either in a vehicle or not, are not falling from the sky whenever they enter a no-fly parcel.

Before we can properly help you, you need to describe in detail this "rampant sex." So we understand the issues, you see...

Whack in the ban lines - access by group or named avvies - if you want to keep the whole island private. If only certain areas need to be restricted then the easiest way is some sort of security device. Ban lines only extend so far vertically and anyone with a flight attachment such as Flight Feather can fly over them. In your case to protect the skybox, a security device would be most appropriate. There's a lot of them out there on SL.

As someone who leaves view admin options on often for diferent reasons, i must say it's pretty easy to not even know the parcel you are on has no fly turned on.
Sometimes people get mad, but honestly no fly parcels are so few and far inbetween it's just too easy to overlook.

Even without turning on admin options, if the person has a vehicle, a jetpack, or is simply flying when they enter the no-fly area, they are still able to fly
If you really want privacy, not allowing people on the parcel (if only while you're busy) is the only sure way.

Oddly, I keep coming across large-ish shopping areas which are no fly AND have no tp board. I don't know if they're hoping to tempt you into other shops while you're hiking to the one you actually wanted to go to, but it's just stupid. Either people know how to circumvent the restriction or, more likely than not, they're going to get irritated and leave the area...perhaps permanently.

Thanks to all, that's made things a little clearer and given us some good options. I like the idea of auto-ejecting people (as we suspect there may be a little more to it than 'accidental' intrusion). --------------------------------------------------- Emily: You can take this as an invite if you want...but be warned that having private, rampant sex whilst flying is not as easy as it seems. Think 'stealth jets re-fuelling during severe turbulence'.. Love and LittleMe: I initially posted a detailed and graphically illustrated blow-by-blow account which appears to have been pulled by admin. I'd send it by PM, but admin's threats to report me to the FBI for "gross, depraved actions that shake the very foundations of human integrity in the 21st century" (their words) have somewhat dissuaded me....

It's probably difficult to accidentally arrive outside a skybox at 3000m. A security orb with eject is appropriate.

Actualy funnily enough, often when teleporting away from a skybox, i will just click a point on the map to tp, and forget to change the z coords from my current hight. When I tp I end up right next to another skybox.
