My friend who attempted to do the caribbean trip was really using a school atlas. When I do anything like that I go prepared.

I know the question wasn't aimed at me... but yeah. As I mentioned before, while I certainly respect RP-ers, I myself am not good at RP and am intimidated by it. I wish I could do it, but I freeze up like a deer in headlights, so if I see an avatar that is obviously RP, I'm likely to avoid contact.

Nice to see the thread didn't get killed, as I think RP vs non-RP (whether or not it involves child AV's) is an interesting topic.

People who RP outsde of dedicated RP-areas should never expect others to be a part of it.

I recall being at a store once and some people were talking between themselves, with a few cursewords here and there. A guy tp'd in with his SL daughter right behind, and he complained to the people about using crude language in front of his child, wanting them to moderate themselves due to her presence. He was ignored and I would say rightfully so, as he was infact trying to make strangers take part in his family RP in a public area.

(Had either kindly asked if they could moderate the language because they found it offensive, I would consider it a different matter, as that is a fair request whether people choose to honor it or not)

You take one controversial avatar model and mix it with another controversial avatar model, you end up with something that has four times the controversy as either of the original two.

That, and I haven't ever seen any furry-child avatars that one can buy anywhere. The closest I have seen are child nekos.

I honestly dont think I have spoken to a ten year old boy since I was 9 (unless it was under duress). I dont know any kids. None of my friends have kids. Well, one friend does but its not his fault.

I dont have pets either. Not even a goldfish.

Agreed, Desmond. Every so often, reports come in through SLC of people trying to "entrap" kid avvies. Most simply try to TP the kids to a location where they can play "shoot 'em up" or otherwise verbally abuse them, while the craftier will opt to TP the kids into sex-themed places to file trumped-up abuse reports. Invariably, the "entraper" has gotten it into his head that kid avatars = pedophiles, and he or she is simply doing their part to "clean up the grid." It's always struck me as pretty crazy and creepy, possibly as much as the real pervs on SL. :-/
