Fail at trolling. The whole point of a firstlook/RC client is that the community can try it out and report problems/bugs. Updates are mandatory so that the version of test clients out there are uniform, so that they don't get bug reports on fixed issues on old builds.

Please, when you try to troll next time, do it a _little_ better.

You can disable auto updates by changing the target line for the windlight shortcut.

For instance, on my shortcut the target line is:

"C:\Program Files\SecondLifeWindLight\SecondLifeWindLight.exe" -settings settings_windlight.xml -channel "Kristian's Client" -set SystemLanguage en-us

Voila. No more forced updates until probably 1.19 becomes the mainstream viewer.
