Bitching and whining, or even bringing up an issue with a beta release on these forums is totally not going to get anybody's attention that can do anything about it.

The best you can hope for is a "I'm getting this problem, can anyone else see the same thing?"-type questions and the results should go into a JIRA which is something that is at least visible to the Lindens.

If you want to get the most stable experience out of SL that is available, or you don't feel like reporting errors that occur, then simply don't use a beta release, or a first-look, or whatever LL are calling the various flavours these days.

Someone posted on the blog about the latest Windlight announcement that they kept crashing with the new Windlight client and were losing the builds they were doing and this was for their business, so they were losing money.... HELLOOOOOO - use the most stable client if you're doing something that critical, for gawd's sake! I mean, you're still not promised to crash, of course, but it's more LIKELY to work more reliably.

I think maybe LL should do more to warn people off using this new stuff unless they are prepared to put up with the glitches and the setbacks in versions. I mean, if it was flawless, it wouldn't be a beta, would it? These things don't even come up to the standard of a Release Candidate (which means LL think they have got the bugs out as best they can).

From: Mircea Lobo

Anyway, sorry for my own rant about it and who got upset by it, and when they have the time I hope they fix it. This should probably be moved to bug reports or something, or closed.

This was Mircea backing down of his or her original statement. I derailed the thread a little because it was time to have some fun and stop beating Mircea up. He or she already apologized and everyone can understand being frustrated at SL or LL for some of the silly crap they do. I've wanted to call Phil himself and yell at him a few times. Crash, freeze, spin in place, where's my hair? Where's my inventory? First time I've been able to get on in a week - oops, the grid is down. Etc..

I vote for cutting Mircea some slack. We're a democracy, right? No? OK, then, I respecfully request that we cut Mircea some slack.

I'm speaking for myself here, not my aforementioned client who refuses to comment on the grounds that it might incriminate him prior to his pending incrimination at the trial of the century Bracken v. Linden Labs...

Well, I don't know about that. Is Mircea in the clique?

Actually, I didn't see this later post. Now you make me feel guilty. I might have posted to be silly anyway, but may have worded it differently. Sorry Mircea.

I've been told I'm in the clique, but I don't remember getting a badge or anything. I think it's a pretty big clique, though. How many forum members are there?

My alt would like to sue for defamation of character based upon this statement.

I haven't updated since the mandatory voice update.
I did try the onrez viewer the fps seem better the day I used it verses the version I had but I think both were back from December or around that time.
Only thing I don't like about the Onrez viewer is I feel crowded and tools, features are bit different, and of course everything is geared towards remember to shop at Onrez just in case you forget too.

A lot of people are in the clique - But only Raymond, Brenda, Chris, Oryx and Trout get to sit at the cool kids table.

I agree - let Bradley have my seat. I'm not in any clique and I'm definitely not one of the cool kids.

That's not what you said yesterday over in the FelonHall library build...

Check out the high prim stools.

God forbid! Then I'd be accused of tag-team derailing with myself. That right there should put me in a straight jacket. Besides, if Trout were my alt, I'd get him better hair. :p

I was going to say to heck with all of you and start my own clique but now that I see that Chris looks just like Emilio Estevez back when he was cutie, I think I'll hang around.

Not the hair. I can't believe you went after my hair. Is NOTHING Sacred?

lol - Raymond - poor Chaos. He'll never live down his 500,000 prim barstools. I thought now that you got rid of Liome, you were taking over Felonhall. Gritty urban role play with actual prim grit? Didn't you buy the place to convert into gritty beach role play with camping and ad-farms?

Funny. I was going to say the same thing, but about Oryx and Molly Ringwald.

No need to take over. I'm Chaos' alt.

Didn't she eat sushi for lunch in that movie, TROUT?

Amazingly enough, that's what I had for lunch today. Besides, I'm not a trout, I'm a trout hunter. As long as she didn't eat big hairy guys in waders that she plucked out of a stream while they were waving a flyrod back and forth, I'm in no danger whatsoever.

I've seen that film. I'd post a link if this weren't a PG site.
