Do you use an ALT to live your SL sex life?

I tried going that exactly that route...it didn't work out, for several reasons.

- There are only so many hours in a day, and time spent in an alt is time away from your main and his/her friends and relationships. They tend to be the poorer for it.

- The expense of outfitting a whole new avatar just for "games" seemed excessive

- Since she wanted to get into casual sexual situations, she tended to meet shallow people, and one-dimensional people (other alts created to indulge a single fetish, for example). And, oddly enough, spending a lot of time looking and not finding. Although she was quite beautiful, Lindal got asked a lot more often than the alt.

- I kept forgetting which avatar I was using and either inadvertently "outing" myself, or reaching for something in inventory that wasn't there.

I eventually deleted the alt and decided to just be me. I always was, anyway.

This can be particularily true if you been together irl. SL sex is just quite not the same anymore.

I voted "oh hell no", because although I do have a couple alts that have gotten freaky on occasion, so does my main and I dont feel the need to hide anything about that fact.

No alts, for any purpose here.

They don't even bother to do that, always. I've been hit on, when I am, mostly by guys with a partner and/or wedding photo on page one of their profile.

That's just creepy. At least sneak around like a respectable person.

I couldn't begin to tell how many that have partners have hit on me, but it's a lot. Many of them tell you up front they have a GF and are just looking for some fun on the side.

It makes me a bit nauseous since the 'bride' always looks so happy in the 'wedding photo' photoshopped on the profile pic.

Sure, I've created an alt to be less squeaky clean, but it didn't work out that way. He took on a life of his own. He is more a gentleman than me, being human all the time and having spent most of his time in Caledon.

I tried creating another one who is less pretty, more rugged looking, which I think is a rarity in this world. I wondered if looking a little more like a thug would unveil a more aggressive side of my personality. But thug guy wound up being really focused on shopping for an antique aircraft (for my Caledon alt mentioned above) while a couple of gals tried to flirt with him. Now this doesn't happen with my prettier avs, so the rugged thing evidently had some effect, but I was clearly not much into it. It didn't feel right at the time. I never use Mr. Rugged Thug now.

So my poll answer was - I don't do relationships or sex in SL. I'm more interested in the community and the creative exchange of ideas.

Of course those alt accounts are still there, not canceled . . .

As everyone knows, I don't have any alts, but if I did I would use them to stay the hell away from all the women that keep propositioning me in IM, and do some exploring or useful stuff instead.

Why is that so hard to believe? Some people don't care for it.Some people have RL partners that actually keep them happy..Some people are here just for business.

Well some people really are extremely secretive about it.

I know several people who have "do not do sex in SL" in their profile but yet they do. And i know a few people who have directly lied to my face and told me they don't sex in SL, but I have either known who they were sexing, or watched them with my hellafied 512m draw distance - though that stupid minimap showing YELLOW DOTS is making my "friend voyeurism" more challenging.

I think A LOT of people do not do sex in SL at all. I just find it funny those who proclaim they don't in their profile, but do anyway.

I for one am a virgin, never sex in SL, never have, never will, and am gobsmacked by those who do.

I'm sure there are some out there that do not do sex in SL. They probably don't log in as much either though.
