Men like pr0n! Film at 11. But it's not just any man. It's the creator of Second Life. People sometimes baffle me. I could understand it not being news if say, A Man bought a slushie from 7-11, but if say Barak Obama bought one, I think its news worthy. (And killing a fly, doubly so  ) Such are the pains of celebrity. However, This doesn't rank as mundane as buying a slushie. This has deep social and moral implications for the adult community. To those that understand the implications, no explanation is necessary. |

I DO understand why people want to characterize this as a visit to a porn show; on the one hand, it is more enjoyably "scandalous" this way, and on the other, it seems to legitimate adult content. The problem with an insistence on this perspective is that it falsifies the significance of the event. This was, I'm sorry, an ART exhibit, that was offering a satirical commentary upon official LL attitudes towards porn (among other things). Yes, it is true that one of the points of the exhibit was to explore the boundaries between art and porn, but that does not make this a common-or-garden strip joint. That Philip Linden showed up for it IS significant, but to take either the "OMG he went to a porn sim" or the "Men just like porn" approaches is to reduce this to a supermarket tabloid story. Now, when we see PL collared, chained, and dragged around a BDSM sim by a scantily-clad dominatrix . . . THEN I'll be interested to hear more on the "SL Founder Enjoys his Porn" angle.
