hmmm...

carl metropolitan once gave me a builders grid thing at the newbie show and tell. 40x, with those measuring grids on them, and one side had a wall, and three sides actually had a railed extention. i added a seat cushoin to the corner and a pose stand to one side. then i'd whip it out in the sandbox, sit on it, and boost up to a few hundred meters and build my little heart out.

one day i had a weird crash, and when i came back, it was gone. :( i didnt think much of it, i mean, i have freebie build boxes... but they just weren't the same. it re-appeared in my inventory 2 days later, much to my relief. however, a few weeks later, i lost it in the 'no copy items that fail to rez go to the great prim patch in the sky' fiasco.

i built a new quickie replacement, but it's just not the same. in fact, this reminds me i have to go ask carl if i can buy a copy/mod version of the grid. it doesn't have fancy geegaws like replicating chairs and elevators and a little butler that serves espresso -- heck, its not scripted AT ALL. but dang, it was useful!

im also very happy with my lost furest tiger avatar. after agonizing for months over which tiger anthro to get (well, im picky about my tigers).

the full perms kage tiny animations are another prized possession. ive done so much with them, and have broken into the avatar-making biz with the.

and if i ever lose my figure-8 serpent entwined dragon design, i'll go nuts, because those freekin tori were SO hard to align, and i had to do every single one of them!!!!

oh, and prim mirror. serious must for building anything with bilateral symmetry. (or even other symmetries.) loop rez i could live without, cuz i could put all the flexis in an arc by hand, but doing the math to mirror something? no way!

okay, i'll shut up now. because i really REALLY need to dump a lot of old junk out of my inventory. i need to go to an inventory clearing party. that'd be a good event, ya think?

My Cartoon Assitant tool. Its a tool that I developed myself and saves me hours designing products. It was my first complex scripted object and one of the things Im proud.

Ctrl+~ gives you larger snapshots (saved to disk), usually saved as bitmaps. They look much nicer than the default in-world snapshots.

Does the Ctrl+~ make the same snapshot sound that pushing the snapshot button does? Or can a photo be taken without making a sound?

I'd like do awful things to you, but I'm pretty sure you'd snap me in two like a twig and leave me cross-eyed, dizzy and confused. I'm giving you a 9.8, tied for the top rating ever given. Almost off-the charts slutty. Shame on you and congratulations. -- Trout

Look on your client menu, choose "Quiet snapshots to disk". Then CTRL~ will be silent!

What a fun thread to read! So many places I want to go shopping now :D

My favorites are 3, so hard to pick one.

First is the house that I built. Its small and pretty cheesy, and some of the textures are off, but it was my first real building accomplishment and I love it. Still stands on my land today.

Next would have to be my prim wings that I found for free when I was 2 SL days old. I wore them constantly for months, until I realized they weren't phantom and I was knocking people all over with them. So sorry if you were one of those AV's back then.

But the one possession I absolutely love is Fluffy, my rottweiler from VKC. Cutest pile of prims I've ever seen! I can't imagine teleporting home and him not being there to greet me :-)

OOooo ... can you do a search on me and drop one in my inbox? By the time I get home, and get everything together - I'll have forgotten about this little item ...

Oh - and my favorite thing weirdly enough - is my freebie watermelon gun I got at Yadni's.

There are so many wonderful things/people that SL has brought to my life. My RL/FL is made much richer today because of my SL.

But my favorite thing in SL is my Suspicious Bodega Microwave Burrito.

It was a freebie I picked up at Burning Life.

You wear it and you start passing gas, loud ripping gas, and real brown gas comes out of you too.

3 or 4 of my friends have them too, as they are copy/trans (want one? I'm me inworld and I'll send you one!) and we wear them when we go to amusement parks.

I haven't laughed so hard in years. I'm almost 40 but this silly little thing makes me laugh like I'm 12 again.

My Grande Mihr 4.0 angel wings (from Material Squirrel). They are color-adjustable, flexi-adjustable, flap-adjustable, and just about every other kind of adjustable (e.g. you have the option of them turning off when you land and walk around). The look and move like real wings, and I was only on SL for a week when I saw someone wearing them at a gay beach resort, nd a kind person took me to Material Squirrel and demonstrated them for me. That's when I fell madly in love, and I still am in love with these wings.

ohmygod Heath!

I was never into wings - but seeing your description of them turning off when landing made me go look. The displays to try the wings on - the best. I ended up getting the same ones as you. I love them!

Would have to be my glasses. They are the very first thing I made. I'm hardly ever seen without them on my nose.

Close second would be my Abu's Wide-Screen Uber Panorma. It's 3 prims wide with perfect seamless texturing. Changes background with a click.

Oh my gosh, I was intending to reply with the same thing! My "angel" wings are my favorite possession.... exact same model from Material Squirrel. White and flexi, they flap, flutter, droop, hug, tickle. They are just *gorgeous*.

Part of the reason why I love them is because of the person who bought them for me on my 1-year rezday, who calls me "Angel" on a daily basis. In fact... these wings brought us together. :)

You can see a picture of me with these wings at: http://www.slprofiles.com/picturedetail.asp?id=94503&sid=94091

Material Squirrel Grande wings - absolutely no question.
My hummingbird from Zoobys, who hovers near me discreetly, until I wave him off.
My longhouse from Barnesworth Anubis.
My trees from Botanical, especially with added ground shadow. I go to the beach, and in the blinding light of noon rez a lovely hugeous tree, drop the ground shadow, rez a snuggle blankie and a couple of rootbeers... pure joy.
Oh! And my Layniewear "Knitting - for when the grid is down" t-shirt! The BEST!
And that lovely purple shirt from Armidi...
And my plain workaday yukata from Kawaii...

My favorite has to be my Munchflower skin, which I haven't taken off since 2005. Weird, I know, but it is such a distinctive skin that I don't look like me without it.

Two other things I still keep in inventory are a "Rave Rod" that I got in a club on my 4th day in SL - I loved that thing...SHINY! Also, my beloved purple particle poofer that I don't use because too many people hate them. I saved my stipend for weeks when I was a n00b to afford that poofer and thought I was the coolest avatar in SL when I bought it :p
