ok- I'm not sure about the rules regarding the posting of SLURLs in this forum, but I was wondering if it's possible for us to make our own guide with links to the exhibits?

I've been reading comments about wonderful builds at the festival, but I have no idea where to find them-

Where is Loki's build? Where is Marianne's build?

it'd be great if folks visiting the birthday sims could grab a SLURL then post it in this thread with a bit of information (while you're at the site you'd like to post about, open your map and click the "copy slurl to clipboard" button- then come to the forum and paste it in...)

for instance- the Greenies build can be found at:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Ruthed/106/131/23

and another little weird thing (called "Down the Rabbit Hole", by LittleToe Bartlett & Pavig Lok) at:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Render/10/183/23

if this is a silly or prohibited idea, just let the thread sink or throw potatoes at me- but I, for one, would love recommendations and info about things to visit at the festival- along with instructions on how to find them...

maybe this would be a place to start?

thanks bunches.

up past my bedtime- ltb

I'm part pf the SL5B Staff and love this idea!
I'm willing, if people post SLUrl's along with the name and detailed info about the exhibit here, to add it to the SL5B Page. : D

Flying Tribe Sculpties

I'm showcasing ten creators who have done wonderful things with sculpties that I have created. See the mouse slipper, wedding cakes and the toast colored teddy bear.

Just look for the giant purple bunny.

Where is Marianne's build?

Hi

It's about 200 meter Southeast from SL's finest and most famous stable. You are the last to go there?

Both mine and Loki's are in SL5B Move, about three sims east of where you were yesterday, Littletoe. I am across the road from Loki, and there's a display of SL Maps from NCI (and Carl Metropolitan!) between us.

Mine:

Loki's

Also, check out Robin Sojourner's little educational exhibit:

I tried to go to SL5B last night but kept crashing si I went the kids one instead - I'm not really a kid person at all but after transmogrifiaction I dug it :)

Everybody should try it - even if it's just for a little while...

Does anybody know if there is a transmogrofier in RL somewhere?

"Youthful Creativity and Roleplay"
Ceera and Reisuki's sandcastle

http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Copy/93/1/23

================================

There's a beautiful art and sculpty exhibit right across the sidewalk in front of the castle, in the next sim to the South, as well as an interesting "Sacred Grove" with standing stones and misty efects.

There's a recreation of the great hall from Hogworts (by the Harry Potter RP sim group) immediately to the West of our castle.

In a juxtaposition that would only exist in SL... across the sidewalk to the West of Hogworts are very tastefully done and G-rated displays for the Isle of Lesbos and the Transgender Lounge.

The Toxian City RP area has a well-crafted display in the NE corner of SL5B Copy.

About two sims West of SL5B Copy is the Caledon display, which is quite large and pretty.

The official Linden Lab exhibit has a huge bear on top: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Second%20Life%20Birthday/5/61/23

A display of art from the Gor sims:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Flexi/88/128/23

Winter Ventura's poignant display on censorship. Very well done!
Winter has a notecard giver with LM's to kid-friendly stuff at SL5B and Kids5B.

Seems to be one of the most popular parts of the event, really.

Please make that extra effort and add the information being provided to a notecard giver on the SL5B Welcome area sim and to the other 19 exhibit sims. Use a networked notecard giver (here is one for $150L on SLexchange: http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=615224) This will allow you to update the notecard from your location and the notecard givers all over the grid will have updated notecards.

Here is my SL5B CLUB SCHOOL Exhibit Schedule ( I gave it to you on June 20th) /116/1a/266099/1.html

Lias I am not able to get In World, I am working away from Second Life and if I could get In World right now, Id be going around and listing all of the plots lol

The info can't go into a Notecard, there's welcome packs at the welcome area and they have a link to the Wiki. All of the inof can be on Wiki and does not have to be in a notecard : D Besides, we're trying to reduce lag.

Oh and Lias Exhibitors were told that if they can't list their Events from their plot at SL5B then they should email their event details to sl5b.events@googlemail.com so that it could be added to a google calendar, I added SOME of yours onto that yesterday when I put the info onto the calendar from the Week 2 Confirmed wiki page. There's been an InWorld Notice about this, Forum post and an Update on the Wiki also.

Let's Use "Map Your Show" Or Something Similar!
06-25-2008 09:48
In the future, LL might want to consider using a tool like:

www.mapyourshow.com

or something similar! Let's make make SL as professional and easy to use as possible!

The Photo Institute at SL5B

http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Rotate/160/30/23

Hi! I'm Trinidad.

Just wanted to stop in and add our exhibit information.

The Photo Institute is Second Life's premiere photography instruction school. From beginner to advanced, TPI can teach you to take better pictures by helping you to better understand the nature of and intricacies of Second Life's unique photo-taking system, to better understand such subjects as composition and lighting, and to expand your knowledge and understanding of photography in general.

We offer several types of classes and workshops to meet every student's needs: From semester-long classes of six weeks each, meeting twice a week, to one-hour lectures featuring some of SL's finest photographers, and short-term workshops that can take as little as one to three hours, or sometimes an hour a week for two to four weeks.

Thanks!

SL Music Community @ SL5B
06-25-2008 10:38
The SL Music Community has set up an area with .... well lots of music obviously!!! ... but also info about music in SL, a camping ground to hang out, forest to explore with fireworks every two hours, and stages for music performances.

It's walking distance from the SL5B main stages, where the rest of the music is happening :D

Here's the slurl
http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Rezzed/132/137/24

From this spot, walking in will show a huge amount of info available about music in SL.

Way in the back left is the nightlife zone. Hang a left from the nightlife zone and you'll find a music-campsite-BBQ-hangout area, as well as the forest with two-hourly fireworks and a sky-stage, plus a merry-go-round!

Meanwhile, at the main TP spot, if you turn the other direction, you'll find many more cool music exhibits, includings a breakbeat area, and other cool stuff.

Mines a funny one ..I have things scattered round.

The first is a visualization of the SL wind 100 square meters of the sim mapped to 10 square meters.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Stretch/1/172/24

The next is an odd piece where two birds fly around in some fun curves bumping into the prims of a sculpture and triggering notes.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL5B%20Render/96/134/23

And the last is my Homage for the Breathing Tree, safely held in the Brooklyn is Watching enclosure.
