You're too kind. It's a burden, but I try to bear it unselfishly. /me bows to the inevitable ... YES, Pep! It was of course you whom I had in mind. How very clever of you to spot it ... Have you ever read the eponymous HG Wells story? It's entirely apropos. Actually, no, I haven't. I guess I will need to now, won't I? _____________________

Actually, no, I haven't. I guess I will need to now, won't I? Serendipitously, it's the anniversary of HG Wells's death *today*, which means that his works will be out of copyright in exactly seven years time. Pep (I am sure you can find a copy in your own bookshop though, and then sell it as second hand after you have read it.) _____________________

By the way, that's a terrible acronym, "SGTWOH". How do you pronounce it? I see it as "Sergeant Whoa". And besides, it could also mean "Sweaty GIRLS Typing..."
But to respond to the original question: Nobody Knows. They are certainly out there. And the possibility of having sex with one of them causes some guys, and some RL lesbians, a lot of concern. I'm with Chris Norse, and a lot of others on this subject. I take every avatar at face value. It doesn't matter what set of chromosomes is pounding the keys. _____________________

Pep (I am sure you can find a copy in your own bookshop though, and then sell it as second hand after you have read it.) No need...wonderful thing, internet. http://www.online-literature.com/wellshg/3 BTW Wells was married to one of the 'first feminists' and was a bit socially progressive - not surprising. The short story was also a television play in the '50s, a friend of mine saw it and talked about how it impacted the whole of his future life. This is why I was encouraged to read the story. Absolutely love "The Time Machine" and so much in it seems to be true today - and we seem headed toward the room of books disintegrated into dust, too. Or perhaps, made into kindle-ing. _____________________

It's from being related to otters. Sorry - I meant the extra human chromosome. I think humans have 23 pairs?. One of the extra 6 must be set to switch Oxford or Cambridge. But I must say, ferrets must be excellent swimmers and be very acrobatic if they punt from the river. ![]() _____________________

Sorry - I meant the extra human chromosome. I think humans have 23 pairs?. correct. and parents pass on 23 each to their child. not that anyone with my name would know such a thing... ![]() _____________________
