I don't think 501 and beyond is possible. I think the FL has a 500 limit.

When you remove friends should you IM them first or just drop them?
I at least check their profile. Usually it’s obvious if they’ve not been on in a long while and probably will never be on again…sad |

Usually it’s obvious if they’ve not been on in a long while and probably will never be on again…sad Well if you're considering removing them then they're probably not friends. ![]() I think the name "Friends List" is probably a bad idea. It should be called "Contact List" and then maybe people wouldn't feel so bad about removing some of the contacts that they're no longer in contact with. But then again, the whole idea of that list is just plain crazy. |

IM or drop them... hmmmm
I guess it depends in what the relationship was like. Myself if I haven't spoken to them in weeks I drop them without any contact. If for some reason I'm thinking of dropping someone I've interacted with recently I will normally IM them and explain why. _____________________

I tend to accept friendship offers and leave people on until I have a clear out of those who never come on line or IM. I must have been removed from other people's lists but I've not been notified in any way - I don't think it's neccessary.
There's no point in having a long list of names of people you can't remember anything about! |

I have very few real friends. Usually, my list of friends houses more clients, and potential clients than friends. I'd say I communicate with around 10 people on a regular basis...the rest are business related.
Unless I see a future tie to the client, I will delete them as friends when the job is done. Sometimes I have to clean house--every now and then, I'll forget to remove a random client from my list. Amount of friends is really very irrelevant--some people think the more they have, the higher their self esteem...the Myspace phenomenon. ![]() _____________________

The reason why I posted this topic to find out if people are still taking friends in thier listings. If seems like many are not taking them as they use to.

There's no point in having a long list of names of people you can't remember anything about! ![]() I removed a guy from my friends list during my first week in SL because he was annoying me, but I felt so bad afterwards that I never removed anybody else ever again. I've occasionally noticed contacts drop from my list, but they weren't people I was particularly close to. I remember once, this guy involved in our social circle said "oh man, i'm so sorry i dropped you from my friend's list," and I'm like, "oh, i didn't even notice." He seemed really hurt. ![]() _____________________

Yup--ALL of the people I meet, and interact with have notes about them.
(i.e.) --------------------------------------------------- * 8/7/07 --Came by the studio to look at Nikon SL100--decided not to buy yet, has to check something out first. * 8/8/07 --Came back and purchased Nikon. Had questions about tripod. * 8/9/07 --Stopped back by, brought a friend _____ ______, they bought the Nikon and tripod combo. -------------------------------------------------------- Everyone I meet and interact with has something similar to this. First thing I do when meeting someone, is open up profile, and go to 'notes'. ![]() _____________________

I think the Calling Card is so under used. I would prefer to offer that instead and not have to watch the ‘so and so is on line / off line’. My calling cards folder is ridiculously large and should defiantly be cleaned out.
Has anyone noticed that you can only select 20 names at a time in the Friends list? It would be nice to be able to select All . |

I had an embarrasing moment one day. I friended a guy in the early days, but we never spoke for months. One day I removed him. What happened? That very day i ran into hime. He actually remembered me and was puzzled why I wasn't showing on his list. I said "Uhmm, yeah I can't see you either. Must be a bug"
We talked for about 2 minutes and he left._____________________

interesting question.
I have lots of people on my friends list, roughly 200. But maybe just a dozen, friends. Do I make sense? _____________________

Excuse me, someone here may shed some light... Those of you who are in the hundreds friends figure, how do you deal with all of the "Hi", "How do you do", "What are you doing?", "Can I come where you are", "Want to come with me" and the "You're always busy" IMs that attack you when you come online or when bunches of your friends do?

According to some people I don't have any <WEG>
There's about 70 people on there currently. The way I see it is, if I am not glad to see if someone has come online then they prolly feel much the same so I do prune regularly for people I have spoken to briefly who wanted to friend me. Usually those very casual early-days-in-SL people who added me cos I helped them drop me rather than the other way round but that's ok. Natural wastage is a fact of SL. Yay hometime! _____________________

My list stays at around 30, tops. I can't manage many more than that. _____________________
