Silliness?

I only had one round of something really silly. There is a particular adult play area designed for men who desire to be incarcerated and participate in the stereotypical sex-acts that go along with them. I was in there, and found it too rough for me, so I made a grand escape with someone. Then we went shopping for clothes (!). I went back the next day with an invisibility hud to "haunt" the jail as someone who had "died" there. The guys who were in there were playing along. I fear the guards were not amused, and I will not be going back to this facility, needless to say. It was a hoot, even if it was terribly immature!

Yes, it must be pretty obscure. My best guess is it has something to do with the weird HAM radio signals some people hear around the globe that are a stream of numbers. Some people think it's an alien conspiracy.

Wow...I forgot about these stations. My stepbrother had a "boombox" that for some reason had SW radio on it. I used to get freaked out by those numbers stations. For whatever reason I thought there was something supernatural or ghostly about it. But I know just what you are talking about. Do they still broadcast these numbers stations?

After I was in highschool I got big into SW DXing. I found a few "pirate" stations (illegal broadcasters) and actually got a letter and a QSL card from one of them. (QSL card is something like a business card, about the size of a standard postcard, you can get from stations if you report back to them what you heard and when you heard it--many are really colorful. It basically confirms your report and acts as a souvenir of your experience. The one I got from the pirate station was on orange cardstock with blue print. Hint: if you are a dork like me, and try to see where you can get stations from on AM or FM radio, these stations sometimes still send you a QSL card)

*Shad sits at RL desk that has a SW radio on it wondering why he doesn't turn the thing on and find out for himself about the numbers station, and wonders why anyone here would care about his bleating QSL card*

I've had so many good and funny times it's hard to pick a good silly time,
one of my all time favs was visiting some pretty place as a newer resident.
There were tall peaks w/ little circular builds to sit and take in views and bridges further up and down.
A person I use to know stood on the high ledge and launched into some "emo" "I'm going to jump! I'll do it!"
So, they were going on and on busy typing away in IM, making up more and more dire jokes.
I walked over as they were busily typing and pushed them a touch and knocked them off, they were so busy typing it suddenly turned into,
"and I iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ..." not skipping a beat, all the way down.
I was laughing so hard I had tears.
It was so! funny and unexpected.

It's funny you put it that way. When my RL alt was a kid, I had a SW radio, and I found a numbers station which gave me the exact same impression - I was seriously creeped out by it. Although I admit, this is the first time I've ever heard of the suspected source being "aliens".

They are still around. The numbers station I alluded to in my prank, "Atención", is based in Cuba and was actually the subject of a federal criminal case a few years ago. It seems some folks in Florida were spying on anti-Castro Cuban-Americans, and got instructions via the numbers station - when the Feds arrested them and seized their computers, they found applications on the computers which, when fed the seemingly-random numbers dictated by the Atención broadcasts, produced intelligible sentences like "Don't be on an airplane with anti-Cubans for any reason on July 23rd", and stuff like that. I'm not sure of the exact date, but apparently a small plane carrying some members of an anti-Castro group was shot down round about that time.

I have a friend in RL (Luli), she's asked me a few times ''What is it with Second Life..?'' so I e-mailed her the url to 'Zorba in the Corn Field'.

That was about two hours ago. About ten minutes ago she e-mailed me back; she said she'd have mailed me sooner but she couldn't stop laughing. Funnily..every time I watch it, it has the same effect on me.

Great Vid Marianne..when's the sequel due out..?

Oh here's a couple of questions,

1. Can someone send me a Hoo!! gesture inworld I seem to have lost mine, or point me in the direction of a store that could sell me one. Also where's the BEST place for wierd/fun/original gestures.

2. How many Lindens do I have to insult to get a visit to the corn field, I've heard so much about it and my Second Life would not be complete without a stay .

Silliest things? I must admit I always have an urge to be very silly in constructed environments. A whole kind of "reality breaking" thing. Like, recently a visited a haunted house where there was a ghost chasing me around one of the rooms. It was a pretty neat haunted house, but me being me, I had to sit on the ghost, and watch it have conniptions chasing its own tail.

There was also a time when myself and some friends ran over a series of random sims selling girl scout cookies (no, not for L$..)

Oh.. and once when I first found a "Capture Roleplay" area, with a big maze where people chased each other to "capture" each other (apparantly for sex), after I went home myself and some friends all made up Pac-Man avatars to chase people around the maze in. I think we decided it was getting a bit too close to griefing though, and never did it. :)

Anyone else? :D

Other silly things I've done: 3 ppl driving a freebie golf car through the mainland roads and infohubs, all 3 playing the "manbo".... OMG lol. Unlinking things and make them physical is fun too.

@Imnotgoing

I made a Linden do the onigokko dance , and he poofed to go to a meeting, with the pink mouse tail still attached. Not sure if that beats your Tshirt though...

One of my personal favorites is hopping around on rooftops and doing the /waffles gesture.

Someone once gave me a few too many permissions after I accepted group invite. I immediately ran into the club and modified the a few dance balls so follks would dance on the walls. I wanted to mod some to dance on the ceiling, but not quite enough time for that. The ones that I did manage to mod were an absolute riot.

I've also been known to put other various poses sit or laying down poses against walls. Someone goes to sit down and they end up doing an impromptu Spiderman impersonation.

I've done a few non-in-world silly things with the resources. One of the funniest things was getting the AV mesh into 3DS Max, turning it into cloth, and running the simulation. I just about died laughing. Silly, but a bit on the grotesque side of silly.

Back in the day, I used to do all sorts of silly things. One of my favorites from those days was trying to sell Fake ID cards to noobs so they could get into adult clubs. I've also tried to sell condoms so you wouldn't get a computer virus from virtual pixel humping - this was an absolute riot. For these 'sells', I had gestures set up to show the wares.

not sure if it has been mentioned, but trampolining on top of no-entry land is quite an amusing thing to do (find a land with no entry lines, fly up till you stop seeing the "no entry" text, then fly over the land and then stop flying)

Yesterday I put on my Easter Island moai avatar and went to the little hill in the middle of the Waterhead infohub, and just stood still there for a long time - not sure how long. The statue is cool because it half-obscures my name tag when you're close; when you're about 10m or more away, you can't see it at all. Anyway, after a while a decent size group of avs happened to congregate nearby, voice chatting. When one of them said something about the statue, I suddenly turned, "walked" down the hill and past them, and out of the infohub. The reactions on voice were fun to listen to, heh.

Jetskiing on land is fun, as is jetskiing up verticle megaprims, but jetskiing up my spiral staircase is apparently impossible.

I guess it is probably cause of how your specific jetski is made, a different approach in design of the model, and the way it moves might allow for the riding of the spiral stair (btw, what about going down the stair, would that not work either?)

Does walking around as a giant Godzilla avatar count?

I've been shot at many times in Sandboxes & other areas, amid shouts of "OMG! COOL!!" :D

My favorite has to be Welcome Areas. I may not be able to do the stuff I scripted into it, but its fun to block the view of Newbs.

Ok, I've also pulled out my most nasty zombie stuff in Newb areas. Heh! Scripted Attachments still work :)

OR- making a giant sphere prim, sitting on it, raising it 4000 meters, then making it Physical & going for a ride. My most favorite past time!!!

OR- going to Gor sims dressed as Elmo or Barney The Purple Dinosaur just to see how long till I'm kicked out. :D

I <3 teasing the Gor Folks. They're Sooooooo serious about it!! :p
I'm serious about....... ??? Well, nothing!! :p

Yes yes, bless that dancing cow. That thing makes me giggle like nobody's business and I, too, have been kept entertained by it for far longer than I would like to admit.
