Haunted Spooky fun Houses in SL?

Being October and all I have been thinking of spooky things. I know some of you may not do halloween being that you live outside of US.
Is there much of demand for visiting a haunted spooky places?
I have some ideas for a build in sewer near my unfinished tiny city. I thought about doing it as fundraiser for funding somethings I need and can't afford so that I can continue creating but seriously not sure if it would work.
Has anyone done this in the past?

One of my earliest delights in SL when I joined up was a haunted house. It was very well done and I had to grope my way around for a full half hour to complete the circuit. On completion there was a box of goodies .. or is that baddies? I shall see if I still have the landmark when I log in later.

There is/was a Ghost Train in Shipley on the coast not far from PSI(?) Security and an interesting sewer system in Carnal City but I've not seen many others visit either. I guess it all stems on publicity.

Ideally I could do something fun. Profit here is a fantasy I realize.
If I do anything I usually do it for fun, challenge and for being creative sake.
I saw this program recently on haunted houses and I thought about what could be done here.
Though these days I tend to focus on tiniest avatars(0.060m high) and buildings for them and plants.
Thought about having some tiny monsters but they are bit hard to see.
It would be like trying to see tiny vampires flea sized.
People might not find this too spooky and squish them. LOL
So I am thinking of other fun things that aren't like graphically violent or gory that might be enterntainingly spooky and fun that work in SL sewer like area.
Any suggestions?
Do many residents change and dress up as other things in October for costume parties or halloween?

I once went into an all black maze; the only way that I could fumble my way through was to aim for different colors of glowing doors. I was there for ages, but it was fun and after stumbling around in the blackness, my mind started making up all kinds of creepy ideas. Definitely doesn't need to be gory to be freaky/scary.

Interesting idea. Although not sure how it would work in sewers I have because of the camera views.
I haven't yet done many animated hand drawn images.
I thought about this. Not yet sure how to create animations that are low lag and I am not a scripter

There is a haunted house and a morgue (super fun!) at Flossberg Studios in Cevedale. Laying in the drawer in the morgue is funny... go with a friend and turn on voice.

Oh, you reminded me! I need to do a search for haunted houses next time I'm in-world.

I already had fun doing a Places Search on "maze". In fact, one of the ones I found was a Halloween one with a train to ride through the house and a maze to walk through. I can't remember where it was, though.

Another was Hell - literally, a parcel called Hell with the most awesome, creepiest maze... and some of the most amazing texturing and decorating I've seen in SL. I do have a LM for that one: Glenmore 118, 120, 55. Nothing bloody or gory - but I first attempted it alone, late at night, and it was plenty eerie.

If you do build it, FD, be sure to post and list it in Search so I can come check it out!

Halloween is my all time fave holiday and I used to be pretty involved with a friends haunted house project....we had an absolute blast with it every year.

I haven't found too much in the way of ahunted in SL....devil's Labyrinth is really cool.....but I'd love to see more stuff like that....especailly if it were an ever changing theme so every time one visited....they wouldn't know what to expect. (we did this with our haunted house every year) I think it would be a blast to conceptialize and create....and I bet you'd get a lot of support. Good luck~!!

You definitely should be able to create a really good scary themed build with enough creativity. Avoid the blood and guts stuff and go for a higher level of horror. I've thought several times about a F.E.A.R. type build. For those that don't know, F.E.A.R. is a first person shooter type game that is based in part on a genre of Japanese horror (I think). Playing it, and its expansion is one of the only times in my life I've ever felt real fear in a computer game. Normal FPS' involve stuff jumping out at you - there's a surprise factor that can get your adrenaline going a little, but not actual fear (see Doom III for reference).

F.E.A.R. has this mental element to it that freaks you out. You're trying to fight your way through the bad guys, but the facility is haunted (maybe). All of a sudden, out of the corner of your eye, you catch glimpses of a little girl playing. You turn, she's gone. then you get thrown into another dimension where you're all but helpless...I'm not explaining it well, but honestly, every time the screen blurred a little, I would get a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach - I almost wished I could just go back to machine-gunning down the bad guys. That danged little girl scared the bejeebers out of me, and she never even tried to kill me!

At any rate, if you build it, I'll be there for certain!

One of the creepiest places in SL is the abandoned mental hospital in Deviant Island. I found it by accidnet one night and explored it by myself. I had the hair in the back of my head standing the whole time...

Go there alone on a quiet night if you dare.. muahaha

I love visiting spooky houses, recently found a ghost train one which was only 10L to ride.

not sure im thinkin of the same one, but there is a 'mental instution' i went to once run by a real world health care place, it had rooms that would 'simulate' a psyhcotic epsiose

with sounds playing 'kill yourself kill yourself' over and over it was pretty freaky


i wish i could remember wehre it was i searched the search thing in world but could not find it

It was designed as a project for a University. I can't remember which one or the name either. It freaked me out. I had to turn off my volume and leave. Great choice for Halloween if you're not as big of a wimp as I am.

Edit: I did a Google search and came up with the University of California Davis. That was definately it, but there was no more information and I've given up trying to get in world today.

I have bouncing ideas back and forth. Some many might not get.

The one in the Deviant Island has strange noises (creaking, clocks, random bumps) and blood splatter on the walls..

There must be another Mental Hospitat out there...

I just found Virtual Hallucinations at Sedig 27,44,22. This was (kill yourself) somewhat disturbing. I can see how some people (do it now) might be freaked out by it.

My friend suggested I do spooky garden green house lab that is in the sewer theme some I am trying to draw spooky, creepy but hilariously frightening plant life attacking tinies. Darn anyone have a spare eraser and colored pencils to teleport to me? I lost mine.
But I definitely think I go exploring in bit cause I messed up flower attacking a tiny truck and I am getting cranky need a break soon.

With Halloween so close....could we get a Haunted House/Sewer/Maze/Random place thread going with the SLurls or at least locations?

I would love to spend an evening wandering from one scare to another....of course I won't go to sleep that night, but that's part of the fun. Right?

Any more information on this place? I was looking for it, but didn't see anyplace called Deviant Island. I did find a sim called Deviant, and it was pretty dark and spooky looking, but I didn't see anything there that looked like a mental hospital... did I miss it?

Yes spooky exploring would be fun especially if you went with others dressed up.
Think I am going to keep things simple just do creepy greenhouse in secret sewer lab. With few creepy things. Still wish I knew where the eraser wonder if I got a inventory monster in real life like the one in SL.
Has anyone any clue what a inventory monster would look like?
