Have *any* Canadians been able to age-verify?

From: Aki Shichiroji While i don't see the need for me to verify any of my accounts any time soon, I do agree that the fact that Canadians cannot legally age verify under the existing conditions is ridiculous, and that Morden's letter DOES have merit. To ridicule a group of users over being upset in this regard is rather shortsighted and unnecessary. It is still in BETA, it is not mandatory. Complaining to the government and contacting lawyers is a bit premature. Anyway like I said, it would be easier for LL to just ban Canadians rather than put up with this whining.

Unfortunately, whining and stupidity are not exclusive to Canadians. Ever check out LL blog comments? If ever you are not satisfied with the service you are getting, don't buy or use the product offered. Simple as pie.
Did I just say pie?! Banana cream pie sounds reeeeaaal good just about now...

K, first of all, I never intended to come across as 'whining' and if i did, i apologize. Though in Chas' case.... not really I don't think it's unreasonable for existing customers of a company providing international services to provide feedback about the service being given, especially when the company in question has specifically done very little to rectify concerns in this regard. As I said - I have no intention of verifying whether or not the system 'works' for Canadians as I have no need to - but I do not represent the interests of all Canadians.

I suppose the best thing to do then would be to do what Robin suggests in her blogpost: Quote: "In the meantime, if you’ve tried unsuccessfully to age verify, please let us know by emailing us at idverification@secondlife.com. Tell us what method you used, what country you are from, or any specifics of the user interface that may have not worked correctly. Because we *aren’t* collecting any information from you during this process, we can’t simply go back and look at what you’ve submitted to see where the problems lie. Your email is not a support ticket, and at this point in time we won’t be solving individual cases. However, your submission will help us make system-wide changes that will benefit the rest of the community."

It just hit major BETA testing two days ago. How soon do you want them to make changes?

Much of the info from the knowledge base has been there *unchanged* since the initial blog postings and FAQs about it. Also, where in my post have I screamed 'now now now'? The feedback is out there. It would be nice if some change could happen in the near future for those who need it. That's all I'm asking.

So on a lark I tried again with my DL info, and it worked this time. My theory is that the integrity database was, er, "updated" the first time I tried. And after a suitable waiting period, entering the same info is now considered valid. Since they can't get anything officially through the Gov't of Canada. Oh well. Whatever. My life is just that much better now being verified.
