Moderators often delete pics that are inappropriate but the question is, do SL residents want them to be deleted? Should a fashion pageant allow nudity ?

Surely it's not relevant for a fashion pageant? IMO a miss-world award should be awarded based on prettiness and character rather than what the entrants are willing to take off. I'd require them to be clothed and in something tasteful (so no bikini bound babes either).
Now, if you read this thinking I'm being a "no nudity is bad!" type, please do bear in mind that I'm a furry and sell adult items in-world  My opinion is that such an event should not devolve into a boner-fest if at all possible. _____________________

If SL "beauty contests" are to follow the same rules as real life ones, no, nudity should not be allowed in the competition.
The competitors should also be expected to use hairspray and well-concealed duct tape to keep their bathing suits from riding up and their curves looking smooth and natural. |

IF it's a normal beauty contest I'd assume it would mean with clothes, or maybe bikinis. If it was a contest called 'Miss Nude SL' then I'd assume I was not expected to wear anything to enter.

Dearly Darling, You forgot the vaseline on the teeth for smiling. Two of my RL sisters paid for college with money garnered from beauty shows. They did not take off their clothing. I peeked at this web site and thought eh...not very original nudes pretending to be art and bad clothing choices. I suppose a talent section and interview are not an option. If it's to be nude, why bother with contestants at all? Just hand the award directly to the skin artist.
The whole concept of an SL "beauty pageant" requires a certain suspension of disbelief; nudity stretches that from the vaguely amusing to the quite absurd. |

If I were running a beauty pagent, I would not allow the nude photos. I would instead base it on beauty, poise, and intelligence. Photos like the one posted ARE pornographic in nature (even pixelated), and who's controlling the access to that site?
