From: Riseon Kosten Actually the estate he manages is a wonderful, low lag place to live. I lived there for about 6 months and enjoyed it immensely. Plus he's very helpful, and a lot of fun to talk to. Besides... I'm pretty sure this whole thread was meant to be tongue-in-chick^H^H^H^H^Hcheek.

From: Ceka Cianci are they really fun? or are they more a pain in the butt? i mean if i go away for a month am i gonna come back with chickens all over the place? or will they all be dead? and can't we make our own food if it is prims? I sometimes forget to feed my koi... its horrible. At least the cat can feed itself.

Ceka: That should have an 'pwned' at the end of it. haha
Tarina: You can turn feeding off, if you want. I didn't want the upkeep or I'd have real koi. So that's what I did.
(course if you enjoy feeding them = dilemma)

You forgot "HUNGRY" in your discription DJ!

So yes, I'm addicted to these stupid, laggy, scammy, adorable chickens. Please help.
You forgot to mention "HUNGRY" DJ!
I'm just wondering when they will be coming out with Avies that require to be fed and have bathroom requirements so we have to buy the food and pay to have our waste removed on a regular basis .
Or is someone already working on it?

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Squat you big tard! You still messin with them chickens. (Since we have a LONG TERM ADVERTIZING ARRANGEMENT WITH THE ESTATE YOU MANAGE HEHEHEHE WE WILL SWEAR IT AINT ALL LAGGED OUT BY UR DAM CHICKENS!) Lush (Peresident and CFO , Slut Mag Inc (tm) for the uninitiated) brought a few chickens to the hq and we promptl outlawed them. Worse than Turd and Tard bumping into the carpet lmap. GET HEP!

I am not into the Sion's chickens but found the following article from Alphaville that may interest those that are. http://foo.secondlifeherald.com/slh/2009/08/-sions-surprise-chicken-license-fouls-the-nest.html#more

From: Xxx Xxxx Sion is the creator of the chickens and the creator of the food, of course he is the only one that can feed them, there are no creators in SL that give their creations for accessories to other people, not even in clothing, you want pants to match your jacket, you go back to where you bought the jacket from, you don't go to their competitor to buy their designs Hey, I'm a guy, and even I know better than that. Does Xxx Xxxx really think you can't mix and match outfits? Giving the box back before a refund is pretty standard for predatory cult products in SL, so the complainant shouldn't expect anything different. But then someone who actually buys something like a Sion chicken is probably missing a few prims in the attic to begin with.

From: Argent Stonecutter But then someone who actually buys something like a Sion chicken is probably missing a few prims in the attic to begin with. how is that any different than someone who buys a pet, or a car, or clothing, or anything virtual in a virtual world your comment is rather insulting to anyone who buys anything in a virtual world, be it chickens or otherwise. (for the record I bought the chickens tried them out, thought they were cute, but did not want to keep paying for food, so gave them away... I also have purchased cats that I thought was cute, except they did not need to keep eating like the chickens did) I do not consider myself to be missing a few prims in the attic, all because I bought a sion chicken... a virtual product in a virtual world (what if we said... someone who dresses up like a ferret is missing a few prims in the attic to begin with... would you agree?, or would you feel it was insulting not only the ferret users, but also anyone who buys anything for a virtual avatar...)

The chickens remind me of a game I loved called Creatures.
Anyone else raise norns?
Part of the fun (really the main fun, for me) was in seeing what odd colors and combinations would hatch. I used a lot of the user-modded norns, and so some of the babies would have a blue arm, blond hair, green feet...and the personalities differed, too.
The original Creatures game was a very nice example of AI and I sure miss it. I keep hoping some really smart gaming company will buy it up and revive it. (COUGH)
I don't do the Sions because of the lag and the cost, but I can see the appeal.

From: Rhaorth Antonelli how is that any different than someone who buys a pet, or a car, or clothing, or anything virtual in a virtual world They don't require continual food purchases to stay alive. OK, I can see someone who doesn't understand that buying one, but how common is that?

They don't require continual food purchases to stay alive. OK, I can see someone who doesn't understand that buying one, but how common is that? I think the issue here is that some residents enjoy spending lindens as much as actually having anything to show for it and this kind of product is certainly ideal for anyone with a kink for extravagance. I recall a digression about buying couture dresses in a discussion of fantasy and immersion in SL sometime back where more than a few admitted to getting every bit as much of a kick from the spending buzz as any other aspect of virtual life. All the same I would have to agree, personally, that it's pretty much a dull and wasteful product to even spend time or sim resources on, never mind lindens.
