Ohh that's close to a Godwin. The OP has a history of being a bit confrontational, so it's no surprise.

Well Brenda, you know it better than anyone that you have to push the envelope to get through to a moron. In fact, let me quote my favorite saying.....

Ahem....

'Sometimes you can't swing a dead cat around your head without hitting an idiot.'

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Heh! I knew about Neko / Catgirls long before I had heard of Furries or SL. They are a common sight in Japanese Anime (Cartoons) and Manga (comic books / graphic novels).

As with furries, for some it's just a slightly exotic fashion statement. For others it is an indication of a more feline personality, without going for a fully furred look. A lot of female Anime fans (and a few males) will wear ears on a headband and will wear a fake tail when attending Anime conventions.

Oryx

I think this is a phishing for flames thing here. He's been on since May of 2006 and hasn't seen a Neko or a Furry?

With that attitude, its time to go back to the redneck sim and put on the brown shirt.

Yeah I know. I was just cranky because I got up at 4 am to finish this huge project that's due today at work. I figured if I gotta be cranky, it might as well be towards a jerk. ;)

Speaking of double espressos...somebody here had a place called "Chocolat" in their sig for a while. I wanted to visit, but couldn't find it in Search or the Map. Oh...except one hit that took me to a kind of grungy Japanese anime sort of sim...

/me wonders if Cole might be a neko . . . last one that came out all anti-neko in a thread turned out to actually be a Neko in SL (and, I think, hung out in a neko bar).

Sigh.

It's simply not possible to be in SL for over a year and not know all about Nekos. This is a troll, pure and simple.

WARNING: DO NOT FEED THE TROLL!

/me opens a can of tuna.
Ann...Alyx...Lucrezia...Lexxi....heeeere, kitties! Fish fish fiiiisssh! Ignore the bad nasty troll man!

Now if I only actually *liked* the fishy stuff.....I' more of a mice'n'rats kitty, although fish are fun to play with....but thanks anyway! *purrs*

@Brenda: That was the famed "Half Godwin"! :D

@Deej: Thank you- i have some canine friends, I'm not a doggie hating neko at all!

@Lexxi: So you joined the glasses wearing crowd permanently now? ;)

....I'm also more than just a bit cranky.....it's a woman thing I'm afraid....*goes to swallow some more ibuprofen and swears to leave the troll alone*

Dare I mention the 'why' of it... Let me put it this way.

Say you are at a party when you are say, college aged. There are a bunch of girls there, dressed various ways, and you don't know any of them.

Several are in street clothes, a few are in nice dresses, one is in a Catholic school uniform and two are catgirls.

Now - WHICH ones are gonna be playful, fun and great to be around, and which ones are gonna drone on endlessly about their homework and what their evil roomate did to them?

No guarantees, and always surprises, but let me put it this way. Anyone willing to be a little daring is *not* going to be Miss Paranoid Wallflower or Miss Prudence MomMustApprove.

It's also a pretty good indicator of a healthy psyche that can actually relax, have fun and deal with stuff.

(incidentally, the Catholic school uniform at a party is a *real* wildcard - either the tamest gal in the room, or the wildest, or suddenly both... ooooh do I miss college days... grin)

And I was about to spank you soundly for suggesting that a girl in a Catholic School Uniform at a party was a puritan.

Now, a girl in a Catholic School Uniform with neko mimi -- definitely THE wildest in the room... and likely the source of the best time. *cough*

Yes, Nekos are a Japanese thing, personally I look at them the same as any other avatar.

Actually, the inspiration for catgirls for me comes from a favourite artist of mine, Olivia de Berardinis. She did the most beautiful catgirls imaginable. Siamese, jaguars, etc.

I recommend the book - Second Slice - to get a gander at her best work there. I have the book, very good. Anyway... just saying not all catgirls are Japanese inspired. For me, how I dress combined with my catskin, I would chalk up to being Olivia inspired :D
