I like greenies, even bought the avatar, and still visit there about once a month, dressed as a greenie
it is fun to watch those who are new to greenies see you walk by as a greenie hehe

other than that, I pretty much stay at my place, playing in the arcade or creating something new

Dunno why, but the appeal to explore seems to have gone

one a side note though I did go to the rasta island that guru mentioned in another thread, friendly bunch when I was there, very open feel.

Not sure how often I will go back, but it was refreshing to enter a place and not be ignored.

I used to like the um bliss basin place, but they commercialized it and I do not like it anymore

Still looking for a cool place to go ride my horse, would prefer wilderness trails that are comfortable to ride on a horse (no trees cutting off view or camera clipping)

edited to add I too made a blog, but LOL forgot to update it (maybe someday)

And Rezzable Hallucinogen...

It got renamed to Black Swan.. Kinda freaked when they first renamed it because I couldn't find it any more.

For those that don't already know, the guy who made all the stuff there, and the primary guy at Greenies, AFAIK, is Starax's alt Light Waves. Bestest builder there is.

I also bought the avatar - and had fun on the Forum Cartel land :) It is fun to wander outside Greenies as a greenie, though I have only done it twice. :)

There was a long period where I had also lost the ability to get myself to explore. I've been trying to get myself to do so recently. It is somewhat like seeing an outstanding sunset in real life and smiling and starring and . . . well that is nice, file it away in my brain, but no one else there to share it with -> gets tiring to keep going to all these great builds and smiling and clapping and . . . .

I also liked riding my horse - and back when they were selling sims, I rode around on my horse on one of the sims up for auction by SL. Fun :)

I should note that my lists in this thread were back when I was actively exploring. Like here where a place got renamed, many might not be findable. I know there as a great opera build with lovely pianos . . . went back recently, found that place was no more, and the pianos were in another sim entirely (there was a sign with LM). Ah well. Time moves on, just something to be aware of if you look at my lists. I know some from other lists I quoted are also now missing. I purposely left that sim off of my "and more" section, but forgot to remove it from my quoted list. Hehe . heh h////////////

yep did the same thing, wore the greenie outfit outside of greenieville

I rode my horse along the linden tracks for a little white but that got boring LOL

I miss the wide eyed, newness of being a newbie to SL, it was all so new and full of wonder

now it is.... just not the same

I still love SL, but the feeling has changed :(

Maybe because most of my friends moved on, or maybe I changed and SL is still the same

I dunno

only time will tell

(I also do not have my city anymore, and the fun I had building and changing that helped me enjoy it much more)

I guess maybe it is the seasonal doldrums right now, feel blah in RL, so of course motivation and excitement in SL is down for me as well

*shrug* oh well

I have to use little tricks - narrowly search for something or other to try to keep myself going forward (mostly my trick seemed to be taking pictures and uploading elsewhere; spent one sick day going state by state of the USA map and looking for something based on something that involves that state inside SL; otherwise if I'm sitting there with no plan . . . I continue just sitting there with my mouth open staring . . wondering . . hours go by . . ). I do enjoy being in SL, but sometimes it is just hard to actually do something. You stop somewhere to rest and you look up and 3 hours have gone by and you haven't done anything that night. oh well :)

It's kinda rare for me to totally run out of palces to explore. I seen piccies of places on Snapzilla dat look interesting, an off I go. Or I'll hear about a cool place, like "Virtual Harlem" dat I heard of on New World Notes yesterday. If I'm really stuck for a place, well, then it'll usually be a 'photo expedition," looking for a place to shoot piccies in.

Oh, I'll never run out of places to explore :) It is just trying to think up things to look for. It can be very frustrating to try to actually get myself moving, exploring, trying to find someplace to visit, and realizing, after 2 or more hours, that I used the wrong set of search terms . . .

hehe

So Many Places, So Little Time!

My partner and I love to explore! And I can see a LOT of exploring in the future with these lists! (THANK YOU Sally & Lexxi)

Quests are fun (and can be frustrating...lol)

I see the Pot Healer's Quest listed, not sure if I saw the Mata Hari Quest (prizes of wonderful sculptie jewelry) and The Broken Harp Quest (prizes are a harp that plays lovely music, a flute, and another instrument).

Also exploring...on horseback! And double rider saddles are available for a couple exploring together on one horse. :)

Slight correction.... Random makes his jewellery entirely out of regular prims without textures applied.

True artist IMHO

So what are some of your favorite places you have you EXPLORED, and where can everyone find them?

Open my profile and go to picks. It shows great places I like. Unfortunately the list is too short.

I also like traveling accross the continents, moving alongside roads or rivers. Too bad that there are nasty obstacles in-world that hamper this kind of exploring, like ban-lines, invisible prims and full parcels... I really hate those, they eat my vehicles.

That was probably one of the Sanctum Sanctorum sims... there are five now, all connected, I never can recall the other names. The opera house was taken down recently, but there seems to be landscaping for a new build in progress. Always worth visiting, partly because it changes on a regular basis.

I didn't see Mystery in any of the lists. The other night we went there and it was snow covered for the season. A good all-round sim, a bit of everything. I was going to quote Michael's comment on Svarga and say there is serious competition from the Midnight Reflections/Secret Reflections group and Bliss but Rhaorth I believe says Bliss has been commercialised? It was certainly an awesome pathway with terrific views.

Of motivation I once just stared at the screen and thought 'Hell' ... so I entered it in search, scrolled down to the blue house icon that simply had 'Hell' and picked it. It had the most awesome maze I have yet to find. I keep taking people there .... they're in there somewhere .. honest! ;)

I have been to Greenies aswell. amazing lol. took lots of piccies...
Toxic Garden is good but I was only there for a few minutes before an antbot killed me. I haven't had chance to get back there just yet.
I have started the Mata Hari Quest, found 1 item, trying to figure out the second (only been doing it in little bits over the past week. I get to spend about 10 mins on it lol. Still looking though, determined to find them all for myself.
I have also visited Rasta Island (on the recommendation of Graphic) Not necessarily an exploration sim but found the people there to be friendly. I went there when there was an event on. It was pretty good fun.

Jus a quick question on it though. I don't want to know exactly where they are but are they all on the same sim or spread across a few? I don't want any clues on how to solve it though lol.

Yes it was one of the Sanctum Sanctorum sims, and I also miss the little village that was near the opera house. And I never did get to visit nearby Ubuntu.

Ubuntu:

And specificially it was Intemptesta Nox where the Opera house was located:

I found Winterland and Mars Rezzable from your other post in this thread, keep forgetting to visit NCC and felt a little "off" being in Livingtree in full adult size, but I'll check it out :)

Thank-you very much for your earlier suggestings :)

Oh and I found most of the others through that Winterfest thingie (specifically the HUD).
